Afternoon, folks! Today, I am proud to present my very latest Muppet replica: Kermit the Frog 4.0!

My primary goal with this Kermit puppet was to create a replica that looks like the current Kermit puppet being used right now. Most Kermit replicas I've seen (including my own) usually seem to strive for an older looking Kermit, or simply look like a puppet version of the Master Replicas Kermit.

On top of that, when I try to do a Kermit voice, it tends to sound like Steve Whitmire's Kermit voice, so I thought it made sense to have a "modern" Kermit puppet to match. As a result, I did a lot of research into the subtle and distinctive look of the current Kermit puppet, and then altered my pattern as needed. It took a lot of trail-and-error, but I'm very pleased with the final results!

And, just for fun, here's a comparison pic of all four Kermit puppets I've built over the last three years. If ever someone needed proof that trial-and-error is required to make a good replica, here it is:

Excellent work. By the way, when it comes to doing Kermit's voice, mine's a mix of Whitmire and Henson, though I can do Coulier's Baby Kermit flawlessly. To be fair, it's more on the Henson side, but some Whitmire vocalizations are present.

If there's any vocal advice I can give you, it's to be picky about the voice. It's cool to make it your own, but you have to be on the look out for any minor nitpicks.

That said, I'd love to see a video of the puppet and your Kermit impression.

Yeah, I too am extremely picky about my voice impressions. Perhaps too much so, because I tend to get pretty self-conscious about them! Fortunately, I don't really "perform" with any of my replicas, so I don't mind that that my voices tend to sound a bit off. It's the likeness of the puppet that I really care about!

And thanks! I'm glad you like how he turned out!

I don't have any replicas, so I can't really perform the character with a puppet (The closest I have is a plush Kermit I converted to a puppet for Halloween. I went as Undead Henson).
I'm pretty picky about any Muppet I impersonate, but some are easier to me than others (For example, Animal is easier for me to do than, say, Gobo).

Again, you're welcome on the puppet. I know a good replica when I see it, and boy is this one a stunning likeness. The only thing that may be a turn off is the head seams. Not a deal-breaker, but you know what I mean.

My previous two Kermit puppets were based on that picture, but my current one really isn't. The head and arms are still fairly similar in design, but I altered them quite a bit for the newer one. The body is a completely different (and admittedly much simpler) design.

Also, Kermit's head has no stuffing of any kind. The only thing inside the head is my hand.

I always knew Kermit never had any foam in the head (Maybe in the mouth, but not any making his head shape), since my first puppet was very Kermit-esque in design. Plus that's how he can do that scrunched up "Sheesh" face.
