Wow, I never realized that before. The Muppet Movie was this big epic where they all basically go to California to make theire dreams come true...and then they all end up in New York. (Not that that's a bad thing)

Well, I took it like this: they went to Hollywood to make a movie. Check. Later in their careers, though, they moved to New York (for some reason -- and some like Kermit must have moved BACK to NY). Kermit may have decided vaudeville was more his style than the stuff that goes on in Hollywood.

Wasn't the original concept that the Muppets save a theater, not so much their theater? Cali's probably the only real place to film the thing, and the main reason they can't get Grodin.

I did hear that the Twilight author admitted to creating the series as a mormon allegory, but all the shirtless stars in the movies contradict that along with the fact that followers of that particular religion traditionally wear long undergarments to cover up much more than what's seen in the films. I just take it all as camp.
Congratulations! You found one of the two missing words of how I describe it.

personally, I'd rather this or this kind of monster camp. You gotta admit, that last one is pretty stupid crazy! :insatiable:

Twilight is basically the Dawson's Creek of vampire movies. There's a market for that sort of thing and I don't think it harms vamp-cred. It's the planned film "reboot" of Buffy without any of its stars or creator that's upsetting me. Hope that never happens.

Hmmm. Save a theater in Los Angeles rather than the Muppet Theater? That makes some sense. Still, I was hoping to see the Muppet Theater in new shots with more architecture.

From Muppet Wiki: "In the film, the Muppets must reunite to save Muppet Studios in Hollywood from an evil Texas oil tycoon. To save the studio, the Muppets have to put on a show at the Muppet Theater and attract an audience of ten million people."

The statement is... confusing.

Perhaps: They are NOW at Muppet Studios, which is under the oil tycoon's control. They've lost access to the studio, so they're off to reunite with the Muppet Theater... ?

I kind of makes sense. I can sorta see it being that the Muppets themselves staying attached to the New York Theatre, almost like an independent theatre or even a family business. But in the idea of the fictional world they own Muppet Studios which is responsible for putting out the movies that we have seen. They have to keep this business up or there will be no more movies so they use the theatre to highlight their cause because that is the available media that is open to them to attract attention.

Though, I thought they abandoned the concept of the oil tycoon altogether as well. All the news we've gotten was from an old draft, and frankly we don't know what's up until this thing gets to theaters. But as far as we know, they're going with that original concept.

Seriously... I swear down the line there was some report that said that they planned to make it about a theater. Mainly because they saved the theater in VMX. But hey, we're geeting stuff that meshes together when it comes to this sort of thing.

And wouldn't the Muppet Theater be in England?

I don't know that I follow you. Is there a Muppet Theatrer In England?

See, I always thought that that was more or less the same Theater used for the Muppet show only more modernized. The title "Muppet Studios" sound smore like a production company.
