And wouldn't the Muppet Theater be in England?
There weren't any explicit statements as to the location of the theater on 'The Muppet Show', other than a few hints that it was located in the US (more than a few of which were in the Spike Milligan episode).

Even though the Muppet Show was shot in England and Muppets Tonight was shot in Burbank, they both appeared to have taken place in either New York. If not the city, then Brooklyn. Both have that intentional vibe.

Or... they could have easily been in some Podunk town where they were the only theater around anyway. It's one of those places that are supposed to be ambiguous. Could be anywhere, actually. Maybe a dead end town in a bigger state, maybe in a big city's low income district, maybe somewhere really nice. All depends on how you look at it.

Could be, but it appears that both Henson and Disney have wanted to keep up the illusion of it being NY over the years.

Well, if the story was taking place in NY, and filming of the actual movie took place in California, couldn't it be possible if they built a set in Cali that simply looked like a duplicate of NY? This is Hollywood we're talking about.

That's what I'm thinking and hoping.

That's a good question how do you all feel about it being shot in L.A. over New York. I always felt that NY was the Muppets home.

Well, according to The Muppet Movie, they got their start in Hollywood, so I always figured that they fit well in Hollywood/LA.

Last night, I dreamt that the movie was out, and I was wathcing the end credits in the theater. And the credits were like the credits for The Simpsons Movie, with images of the performers character by their credits. The only performers I remember seeing credited were Bill Barretta, Eric Jacobson, Dave Goelz, and Steve Whitmire (I think in that order). And the only characters I can remember being shown were Johnny Fiama and Lips (Lips wasn't liste dby name udner Steve Whitmire's characters, but he was pictured alongside his characters... Weird).

A thought on songs...

I think I would like to see Paul Williams and Alan Menken team up for the music. I think that would be incredible! I mean, sure they've never worked together before, but ya know, the first time it happens...

Of course, if Paul Williams and Kenny Ascher worked together again, that would be very cool too. Paul on his own is great, but when he worked with Kenny Ascher for the Muppet Movie, the songs were all phenomenal!

I still can't help but wonder what a Williams/Menken score would sound like.
