I never really thought of the Dodos as villians. Actually, they never directly state that Snuffy couldn't visit them at all. They just laugh and say that his best friend should be a bird. Of course, they could have corrected Big Bird when he stated that he didn't want to live there anymore if Snuffy couldn't visit. But maybe if Big Bird stayed another night or two they could have talked about it and worked things out. Of course there's also the possibility that they didn't beleive the whole snuffleupagus story and laughed because of that...
During the interview it was obivous that they weren't too concerned about Big Bird running away... But I wonder why they would have alerted the news. The most logical explanation would be if Miss Finch called to check on Big Bird, was casually told what happened, and then alerted the news.
