Barkley was funny in those programs, too; another great character lost to the wayside of Big E.

Do you think the poll from that one website might have any effects on marketing the SS Muppets?
Yeah Barkley's so adorable, it made so sense to get rid of him. Unless maybe they just couldn't find a new performer (it always looked like such a difficult task!)

It's polls like that that should be paid attention to. They represent the real world as opposed to the manufactured concepts companies tend to create.

I agree. One thing marketing and the entertainment industry forgets about is the public opinion isn't the same as they plan...when either plans something, they should do just the opposite and then we'd all be happy.

One thing SS should really be pushing are classic characters because the 'retro' crowd is now getting into the age of their lives where they have a decent bank account and can afford to buy great merchandise. Ignoring us and shooting for the 2 and 3 year old demographic with merchandise is going to hurt more than help. Financially, I mean. I can understand doing that on the show, but I would aim where the money is marketing wise.

Well it's still in such limbo. The '80s Sesame kids are around 20 years old and are almost at that point where they'll have kids and money to spend. Families are always where the profits are, hehe.

They're releasing all these '80s DVDs now, which are selling well but would probably sell better once their audience gets just a bit older.

This is all true! But this is a pol voted on by adults who grew up with the who. I would love to see who kids who are old enough for the show now would vote for. Also I feel that because they are so many characters on SS and some just have an unfair advantage... I mena their are older people who don't even know who some of the newer characters are. And some fans out their fans of characters who aren't even on the shpw any more form many different errors during the shows history. Plus, there's no Grover... Poor guy didn't even have a chance.

I would say Barkley if he was there, and then Grover, and then Telly, and then Big Bird..so I voted for Big Bird .

Yeah! I bet pols like this could really show that people do like Telly! He's not even in the opening credits with the others. He's one of those underrated characters who deserves so muhc more credit then he gets.

I know, I think it is because he doesn't 'fit' their idea of SST, but he has been around almost as long as most of the 'classic' characters:excited: *hugs Telly*:sympathy:
