There was probably more concern that the figure had a flint or something in it that caused it to spark. But I remember those. I wish I had more of them, but I had about Half, DW, Honker, Bushroot and Megavolt. I got a used Launchpad years later... but I never got the entire set.

I'm miffed that they were going to have a series 2 which included Morgana and Gizmoduck, and they didn't sell enough of series 1 to warrant a second series...
You know, I was never able to get the Megavolt figure to make it's sparking effect. I was able to get the other figures to do their special moves.

Ironically, most of the characters I remember from childhood were made in the line, with the only non-figures I remember being Quackerjack, Morgana, and Gizmoduck.

Beauty and the Beat was the origen... Night of the Living Spud was the one where Bushroot wants a bride, and Spike accidentally gives him a potato instead of a flower... and Darkwing is accused of being a vampire... "... get the diesel fuel!"

And let's not forget the one where Darkwing "died" and Heaven and Hades were both fighting over who should have his soul.

And I've seen a lot of bullets and gunplay that normally wouldn't be in a cartoon. And I love it.
Oh yeah, by bad you're right it is Beauty and the Beat, I stand corrected.

Bushroot did have evil tendancies within him, they were just not as powerful as Quackerjack's tendancies for example.

Bushroot did become part of the fearsome five gang, so that's saying something.

Has anybody here ever played the video game? I have a copy of the game boy game, but I've never gotten past the first level. I rented it for Nintendo a long time ago, and when I did I made it to the part where Darkwing fights Quackerjack, but never defeated him.

Youtube has a play-through video of the game with commentary. Oddly enough, it mentioned that Steelbeak wasn't seen a smuch as the other villians, but I thought that he was seen just as frequently as Megavolt, Quackerjack, and Negaduck.

The figures all had action features.
  • Darkwing Duck's hat flew off his head
  • Launchpad's head could spin
  • Gosalyn's pigtails could move, I think if the figures legs are presed into the body
  • Honker's glasses flew off his head when pressed down and then popped up
  • Steelbeak's beak could open and close
  • Megavolt had a spark effect, as mentioned
  • Bushroot's hair could grow

However, I forget what Tuskernini's action featrue was. Also, I can't remember if all the characters had accessories. Honker had removable glasses, Darkwing was the only one with a hat to have a removable hat (and I think a gun as well), and I think Tuskernini came with somethign movie-related (I'm thinking a megaphone).

I think it would be neat if they had made an Ammonia Pine action figure. Maybe her feature would be a small gun that shoots actual bubbles.

Darkwing claims all his villains are his number 1 enemy, from Megavolt, to Steelbeak, to Bushroot, to Negaduck, etc.

He says that throughout the cartoon series.
It was kind of hard to figure out who Darkwing's actual number 1 enemy is. At first, I thought it would be Moliarty since he was in the very first episode I ever saw.

Then I thought it would be Steelbeak since he works for an evil agency called F.O.W.L. And he was the final boss in the Darkwing Duck Nintendo game.

Then maybe Megavolt since Darkwing deals with him the most and he's been fighting him since high school.

Negaduck seems like the most evil of all the villains.

And there was this villain named Dr. Slug who was supposed to be claimed public enemy number 1, but he was never seen in any adventures, except when he only made like a 10 second appearance in just one episode. Negaduck was mad that Dr. Slug beat him in the public enemy number 1 spot while he came in second and Megavolt was in third. Also Megavolt once asked Darkwing, "But I thought Dr. Slug was your number 1 arch enemy."

Yes that's true, but usually unlike some of the other villains. Bushroot didn't have any real desirse to hurt others. Usually he actually wants some pretty good things like a wife, lover, friends, and a better world though plants. Usually he's seems like just a lonely guy caught up in a world of crime. That's what makes him such an interesting character.

Oh yeah, I almost think i know which episode it was too. I think it was brilliant they didn't actually show him or actually do anything with the character.... it's much much funnier that way... you know, like Niles's wife Merris....

And anyone else remember the Just Us Justice Ducks Part 1 episode where Darkwing introduces every villain as the number one most dangerous villain ever? Great stuff.

That's one of my personal favorite episodes. I think the fearsome five is a pretty neat team.

I would say Negaduck is probably Darkwing's most dangerous villains, just cause he seems just so ruthless. It's funny how the other members of the fearsome five have super powers (minus Quakerjack) yet they're totally scared to death of Negaduck whom doesn't have powers:smile:, I think that probably shows how ruthless he must be
