I don't get it... it's like being left-handed is special or something.
It is, you have to do everything backward..Can openers are made for right handed people, cups with handles, scissors, buttons (for the most part), belts, oven mutts (when sold as a single one, I have to flip them over to wear them), power tools, cars (I don't drive thank goodness) with a stick shift, pouring spouts on measuring cups..etc:sympathy:

I wouldn't call it backward (although being right handed seem to be the unspecified societal preference, sadly). I--even though I myself am right handed--prefer to look at those left handed as people who merely have a different way of handing the world and the situations within in it.

I meant the direction backward, we do have to go the extra mile to make things just work half as good as a right handed person does because many of us (who only use our left hand for things you understand, not the ones that can switch or use both) have to flip things/handle things backward to use them..or use them how they already fit in our hand making opening a can like walking uphill in mud :stick_out_tongue:

I say that this the reason behind the need for left-handed (or at least, ambidextrous so one could have either the right or left option) cars and other things needed in today's world.

It really is, and it would stop the older than time habit some schools have of forcing left handed little ones to be right handed to I think. We really need to get over that form of hand racism (?) I think, being left handed does not make you an evil backstaber :embarrassed:

Incidentally, in some instances--such as in movies (even Disney's)--bias is needed, because unfortunately, it makes the films more relatable & genuine (i.e. more real), for the real sad thing is that--as with any bias--it would be hard to erase any stigma completely

I was just talking about handedness though:embarrassed:..Not the bigger picture *lol* You'd be surprised how much handedness still plays an unspoken part in our everyday lives..it might be seen as just a throw away issue to some but the 'being right handed is better' feeling is still very alive and well:sympathy:...That is a silly observation if I ever had one, but it is silly in a way that matters IMHO...

Wow. Lucky for me that I respect those different from myself (heck, two of my best friends in my earlier years were of different nationalities).

Yes indeed.

OK, back on topic.

What silly observations have you guys made? We could even call them Uncle Traveling Matt Moments if you want. Just be careful around staircases.
