The point I was getting at was that not everyone who drives an SUV would be money-grubbing jerks.

There is no call... no matter how big your family is to have one of those monstrosities. We could blame everyone else straight in the face about the gas crisis... but the majority of it is through people who buy and own monster cars that go through gas like nothing.

You need to move? rent a U-Haul... call someone else... Even if you have a large family... what? Station wagons not good enough? These bohemians should have never been built in the first place. But people kept buying them... heck, even Shrub kept saying how great they are... and buy buying it, and filling it to the brim with Arabian oil, we'll rub the "terrorits" faces in it. oh yeah... we gave them thousands and thousands of dollars... that's showing them.

If these people are complaining, let them. I don't even have enough money to buy a monthly bus pass to try to go out and find work... We're ALL suffering this economic crap. Some of us can't even find jobs because there are less and less people buying things because they have to spend money on gas because people are selfish and vain enough to want something they're told will make their lives amazing.

Even the poor people who bought them should have reaslized they dug their ...oops...our grave. And I don't mean to call all of them selfish jerks... but something like that you really have to think about. Do you REALLY need something that will cost a fortune to fill up? If you really do... fine.

But note, my parents got theirs before the economic crisis. They need the SUV, because my sister is in a bunch of extra-curricular activities (4-H, Horseback riding, Swimming lessons, etc.) and has friends over almost every other weekend. I am not condoning the fact that she has to have her way & get friends over almost every weekend, considering my sister should be able to do some things on her own, but such is life.

Though I do appologize, because I realize some people do need bigger cars. It really isn't the public's fault for their invention... just their popularity. I'm pretty sure the car manufactures could make something just as big and useful as an SUV... but something that would take a lot less space, take a lot less drag and resistance, and blah blah blah, take less fuel, cost less to produce, etc.... but that would require the manufacturers to use their profits to INVEST in new technology.

Though, I still think the station wagon needs to make a comeback.

And for all we know, the new technology could be a bummer. Or the new technology could be milked for all its worth and become resented by so many (just as CGI is).

It is one thing if you need a large SUV. Its the people who dont need them and just buy them to look "cool" or whatever =/

Well said. My cousin has muscular dystrophy and a large-size SUV is needed to fit him and his chair, so he can go places. But, those shmucks who use the vehicles as mere assessories are the ones that should be paying the price...

You did it. You stumbled onto it! The only real advancements in technology ARE for entertainment purposes....

The question isn't so much what they plan on doing, so much as they don't want to spend money on anything, and pocket it and say it's "Profit"... which is why the economy was heavy handed towards the rich when no one could afford anything.

And we suffer, because we're basically giving our taxes to the rich when we pay them!
