The Dark Knight is the number one film of this year (over Iron Man). It is the second largest domestic film of all time (under Titanic's 1997 $600+M and over Star Wars' 1977 $560+M). Domestic gross accounting for ticket price inflation makes the Dark Knight number 29 (under Disney's 1959 Sleeping Beauty and above DreamWorks' 2004 Shrek 2; MGM's 1939 Gone with the Wind has the untouchable number one spot there while Lucas' original Star Wars firmly grips the number two).

The Dark Knight will likely rest at the number 6 spot or below it. Of course, again, this is all in good fun. I think it's nice for a film of this caliber to be recognized by ticket sales, but it's a froggin' good film any way you slice it.

I agree with you there. Aside from Kate Winslet there was little that appealed to me about the film. I was so hoping the Dark Knight would beat it. There was a time when it seemed possible.
