Haha! I love how your life lessons are interpreted through pop culture. It's so refreshing
Referencing things through pop culture--Muppet related or otherwise--is my trademark! Just as it's the trademark of Beaureguard and prawn to do The Streak until punctuation returns to MC!

Yesterday I went on the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal and I found the receipts I wrote out for the people who's doors I knocked on hard to tear out of the receipt book. When I took the money back to be counted and checked at the Church Center I was told I was meant to give them the white receipts I wrote out on top and keep the bottom yellow carbon copies. That's why they were hard to remove. :embarrassed:

Oh and Mrs.Pepper. I'm deeply shocked by what you shared.
Neither of our two Salvation Army family stores in my city would ever do something like that. Well I sure hope not anyway. :concern:

Once when I was visiting a friend of mine and we were sitting in his lounge room chairs I picked up the round footrest cushion off the floor, carefully balanced it on my head and said in a sing-songey voice "Look at myyyyyyy haaaaaaaat"

My friend just grinned and shook his head.

I never thought that they would either; I have been bringing my used things there for years. It's just a shame because it sort of ruins the Salvation Army name even though they do so much good. :/

BUT I can still bring the rest of my things to the Goodwill, so it's okay. I just found this on the Goodwill website:
Goodwill encourages you to donate wisely. Not all organizations that collect donations make the best use of them. (...) At Goodwill, more than 82 percent of our revenues are used to fund our employment and training programs. Goodwill is consistently ranked among top charities that make your donations go further.
So, I feel a bit better.

Why I Oughtta Rip Out Their Tenders And Place It In A Blender!

Well, I did something stupid today, as in I thought I was doing something good for people but it turns out that I just have too much faith in humanity.

I had a garage sale today, got rid of alot of old stuff to try and raise some funds. Not junky stuff, though. But I brought all the things that didn't sell over to the Salvation Army thrift store so that someone else could get good use of them. However, when I got there and delivered my things, I was totally disheartened to see them throw about half of them straight into a garbage compactor - RIGHT in front of my eyes! And we're talking really great stuff, like an entire set of dishes and a perfectly good microwave! Other people were dropping off things too, like skis and televisions and they were just chucking them straight in without even checking to see if they worked or not. I know they get alot of stuff, especially on Saturdays after everyone's yard sales but honestly? It made me so sick to my stomach. What a waste! I ALWAYS bring my extra things there, thinking that I'm doing a good thing. And I don't bring junk. I bring good things that someone would be happy to find in a store and buy; I just have no use for them. And they are chucking them out without a care. If I wanted them to become garbage I would leave them out on garbage day. Instead, I brought them to the store so that someone else could get use out of them. And now, a person who might have been looking for a microwave, or cheap dishes can't find them because they compacted them right in front of my face.

I'm never bringing anything to them ever again.
Screw them, Pepper!
You're too good for those idiots.
;P

Your kindness does not go unacknowledged--remember that.
It's the fact that you had a beautiful intention to help others that gave your actions some worth.

It's the way that they abused it that made it seem the opposite.

You're so kind, sweetie.
Chin up...and kick tem in the butt, baby. XD

Agreed. Kindness should be reciprocated, not kicked to the curb.
