Can I just say that single digits to me don't even register as fat at all? Of course, when you're overweight yourself, your perseption of Fat is much different. I can't call a woman under 200 pounds fat. Soft, maybe, chubby, maybe. But not fat.And I can't even say obese until a woman is at least 280 or 300.

That said, any kind and shape of woman can be beautiful in their own rights. As long as you try. No matter what shape you're in, sweat clothes aren't attractive at all.

But then again, you're talking to a XL sized T-shirt guy who wears ONLY T-shirts. It can be below zero, and I'm still wearing a T-shirt.

It is just common sense that if you eat nothing but fast food you will kill yourself :stick_out_tongue:
Thank you! If you're raised to have common sense, this wouldn't be a problem for many people.

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't have this common sense, or are not empowered to think. That's a big problem in general. As a teacher, I see the damage of standardized testing all the time. Kids are not taught to think for themselves the way that they should be anymore. They are fed information through the media, and a lot of parents don't have the training or now-how to raise their kids in the best possible way. In effect, creative and critical thinking has largely been drained from our society. :scary:

When I get down to it, I actually laugh at the lawsuit filed by those students that claim that going to McD's every single day and getting the biggest thing on the menu and supersizing it as well (probably even after eating lunch anyway). Common sense if you eat masssive quanities of anything you'll gain weight (or at least get very very sick). I mean, I can see why on a level of Somking industry style suits and everything. But that's rediculous right there.

So much right there that's the problem. not just with food, but with everything. A lot of parents today just can't handle their kids. Be these kids wanted or unexpected. A lot of these people toss their kids down in front of the TV, do nothing about it, and then try to shift the blame to anyone else they can think of. It's getting on a scary level too. people are starting to complain that advertisements make kids want stuff.

That's what an advertisement DOES. Yet, people all look the other way when a perscription drug commercial (with a cartoon germ) tells them to get perscriptions they don't even really need. (I'll go on at length about that in a few). Oh yeah, we can go around saying that commercials for toys and food are absolutely evil and ruining our kids (The same kind we had since RADIO, and those people turned out fine), but good ol' Pfizer advertising during Sesame Street. They're helping us with toe stank, and yellowing nails.

I find it funny everyone just blames the food industry for the way we are. These medications are turning people into pill poppers. Sure, there are some people that need some of these products. There are people with serious depression. But now, every single housewife in the country will think that a magical $35 dollar pill will make them happy when they don't really need it (hypocracy- since that's what people use horrible things like Crystal meth for). And don't get me started on sleep medication. That's the worst one of all. You know why people use it?

Well, it starts out when you don't get enough sleep from staying up late, waking up too early, being tired during the entire day, and drinking hundreds and thousands of cups of coffee. Of course you're not going to sleep with that much caffene. You'd be lucky to even be able to blink. But once again, pop a pill! It'll solve all your problems. except for those deadly side effects. But hey, it's worth five day long constipation (or the opposite thing) for a couple hours sleep you would have gotten if you didn't stress yourself out.

So yeah, it's not just the kids. NO one can think for themselves anymore.

Too true, too true. I find the whole thing very disheartening. It's hard to put the finger on why this happens so much. Maybe some of us have gotten too comfy, too cushy... but then there are others in our country who are pushing so much energy on simply surviving, working multiple jobs, etc. that they just don't have time to develop these skills... for themselves or for their children.

I can  . And by doing so I can pass it on to my friends and future child . One person may be little in the big picture but that's okay :excited:

I grew up with three aunts. Every single one of them was an RN. Together they had over 150 years of history nursing, and I have to say: People forget about the normal pills. Depression? Hair loss from stress? B12 (or complex), St. John's Wart, Green tea (or pills of it if you hate the taste like me.)
The point is if you must take pills (Read: Besides the ones you must have to stay alive if you have something serious) take natural things with few side effects. Death is not a good risk or just a side effect like some of those tv ads for things put it, it is the end, there is no pill IMHO worth death to keep shinny, or worth death to have more sex ...

I shy away from projecting hard and fast rules on anyone. Every case is different and people (wherever they are in their health) need different things. It's good to look at all the options. My only problem is that certain solutions that work for some people have become the instant go-to for everybody. People tend to ask more questions before purchasing a household appliance than a prescription. Our bodies are much more important.

Something I try to remember in every area of my life is that - we all have to start somewhere and nobody of note is keeping score.

Going back to the perscription thing for a minute, I don't beleive for one second 100% of the people who see the cute little cartoon caracter of some sort of virus or something will ask their doctors about more information vis a vis those perscriptions. I'd be surprised if 50% of them actually consulted someone. There are people that actually do have these problems, sure. But then again, there are the hypocondriacs that see depression medication, and pop 'em like M&M's. I find it hypocritical that we have to limit fast food/junk food commercials, but the media is pretty much at the feet of Pfizer and Viagra. Both aren't good things.

The sleeping pills are the worst. It's all about US work habits. Go in early, leave late, work through your 2 minute lunch break (the fast food enters in here as well-for breakfast or lunch), and worst of all, go in when you're sick. Is it because they make so little, or is it because they're worried about getting fired if they slack off and relax for five minutes? Whatever the reason, all that stress and coffee isn't going to help you sleep at night. But getting some sleep is probably worth sleep driving to Atlantic City, in a dress, and totalling it in front of an Arby's. :busy:

But back to the health problem, let's not forget the adicts. There are people who have serious problems, and become addicted to something. Smoking, eating, sex, shopping, etc. etc. Addiction is no laughing matter, no matter what it is. I've been struggling with an eating addiction for years. No lie. And addiction is hard to curb. Most of the time, you'll move on to something else. Ex-Smokers wind up gaining weight half the time, since they've picked up eating. I've heard of people who dropped eating habits, got thin, and were addicted to something even worse. So bad, they wish they were fat again. People like that really need help, not to be singled out and punished somehow.

I think this country has an Addiction problem on the whole. A lot of drinkers, a lot of eaters, a lot of Gamblers... and the Shopaholics too. Something is wrong, and I wish somehow people would take a pause and figure out what's wrong here.
