Howdy all,

Well I must say I am extremely impressed with Animal - apart from the white plastic around his eyes and the huge bee sting tongue... I love him! :halo:

I covered his eyelids with extra fur and now he looks great! also I ripped out his tongue and made a smaller one from reticulated foam then dyed it and it looks fantastic! I used Rose Pink rit dye and let it soak for a few hours and it came out perfect, i also darkened the line down the middle and alittle at the back of the tongue with a plum colored marker - looks great.

I'm using just regulay soft foam. Terry told me that's what he used. I still haven't got around to dying it yet though. Been so busy working. I might get around to it sometime this week I hope. I got to play around with the Rit Rose Pink Dye to get it just right anyways. I don't want it real dark like the MR version. I want it more like a redish pink. I am going to use pieces of foam to start out till I get the right color then start dying the tongue itself. This is my last thing to do on Animal and then I am finally done. So far, he looks great! :halo:

On another note, here's a pose in progress. I'm not really sure where it's gonna go from here, but I am sure that Santa hats and my Kermit will be involved somehow, along with an appropriate background.

Aha! Classic. You should try recreating a promo they did for A Muppet Family Christmas with Animal bursting out of a Christmas present wearing a santa hat!

Jarrod, just curious. Why did you buy an MR Animal replica? The Animal you made blows the MR Animal out of the water.

That has to be the best likeness picture I've seen so far. Eyes not too creepily wide or squinted - just a nice relaxed pose that showcases his Animalness! Great job! :halo:

Do you guys think there is a way to clip his mouth shut completely for people who aren't talented enough to rip out the tongue and replace it with a better one? As we all know, Animal's mouth isn't always gaping wide open all the time. I want to be able to do the mouth shut, eyes wide open look, sans the cheesy white plastic piece.

I have ripped the tongue out and tell you the truth, his mouth still does not shut do to the top and bottom plate attached to each other. For some reason, the mouth mechanism is not that great. But I did notice that the mouth closes a little bit better when I replaced the tongue. I have made one foam tongue, but I think I am going to attempt to make a inch smaller one due to the actual size it suppose to be. I may have to do this, this weekend.

It would be cool to see a pic of Jarrod's Animal side-by-side with the MR Animal. How about it, Jarrod?
