Well... Until you can find something definite heralde, I'll keep on believing Nermal's a girl.
Which was one of the things I disliked about the movie version.

Lol fair enough! And actually, even when I find definite evidence, I'll still believe Nerma's a girl! I'm sorry but if they meant for Nermal to be a boy, they put very little effort into it. lol

She shivered (don't we all?) and mentioned that "Elmo has always creeped me out with her strange voice."
Don't understand how. I don't even think he sounds like a girl. maybe in a foreign dub he's voiced by a girl (like Wembly).

And Beth, where is this bunk about Nermal being a boy kitten? Nermal is, has been and always will be a girl kitten.
Oh. he's a boy alright. They really chose a strange voice for him, but he's a boy. In numerous comics Nermal is refered to as "he" . Jason Marsden will be doing his voice in the DTV CGI movie "Garfield gets Real."

In fact, this is direct from the Garfield site, Nermal's Bio:
Name
Nermal
First Appearance
9-3-1979
Nermal Calls himself the "world's cutest Kitten/" he often ridicules Garfield's looks and age, but Garfield gets in his licks. he often mails Nermal to Abu Dhabi.
Nermal was introduced as a kitten belonging to Jon's parents, now he's just a neighborhood cat who simply wanders into Garfield's house to annoy the crabby tabby.

Trivia:
On the Garfield TV show, Nermal's voice was done by a female, leading to fan confuion over wheter he was a boy or girl kitten.
Hope that helped.

Whoa, didn't mean to start something here! I just have a couple of Garfield books that had him referred to as a "he". But in the cartoon show, they really did choose an odd voice to be Nermal!

I can somewhat understand Elmo confusion... but not really. I mean, she must've just been going by looks and voice and not heard him speak a very substantial amount. :stick_out_tongue:

Also, the fact that Tweety Bird is a boy has always kind of thrown me off.

Thanks for all the info. So let's just send this thread off to the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.

Lol, I just have to say, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this! I remember how surprised I was when I found out that Tweety was a boy... before that, I always had assumed he was a girl, lol.
