Last night my sister in law called. My baby niece has the chicken pox! Poor little baby. She's only 6 months old. I was up practically all night worrying about her. (I know it doesn't do much good since I'm down here & she's up in NY.Besides,my brother & sister in law are capable of taking care of her) But hey...I can't help but worry. I love that little princess! :concern: My sister in law said that the baby probably got it from the pumpkin patch they went to earlier this week.
I wish I could go up to help.(I had the chicken pox when I was 3.) But I know that I can't,since our cruise is in less than a week. I had thought that my mom would want to go up there (since she watches the baby often) but when I told her this, she said no.

Aww, yeah I imagine it is rough to get Chicken Pox at such a young age. Well, at least she won't get it later on. Hope she feels better!

Why do you think you'd make a horrible mother? Because you were so worried? That's practically the definition of one. Lol I understand you wish you could be there, but the Chicken Pox isn't usually all that serious.

Poor little girl! At least she's getting out of the way though and she probably won't remember it later on.

You wouldn't make a bad mother for worrying. As far as I know worrying kind of comes with the the whole package.

You wouldn't make a horrible mother, Kathy - worrying about the little darling like that is a good sign that you do, indeed, care about her, even if she's not you're own flesh and blood; that night Tommie was attacked by those two wolves, I had trouble sleeping for MONTHS after we put her back outside because I kept worrying about anything else (wolves, coyotes, etc) attacking her in the middle of the night.

I hope she gets better okay soon Kathy. And I know that you have a good mothering instinct to feel such care and concern for your neice in itself.
Even though you cannot be physically present at least you can pray and put her in God's hands. That's the best thing you could possibly do to demonstrate your love.

Aw, Kathy! I have to repeated what everybody's said here. The fact that you would rather help take care of the baby makes you the best kind of mother in heart. How much more would you have cared if it was your own child?

WOLVES? OMG Snowthy! But I'm glad Tommie's OK.
Maybe it is a good sign that I worry about the baby so much
