Yep Tony..he's a hero. (at least to me & others) He was interviewed not long ago & he said he didn't want to be called a hero.Don't know why though.shrugging shoulders
I actually think that makes sense, Kathy. He very possibly could just see it as having done the right thing; what he knew he needed and wanted to do. That is very noble! I definitely see him as a hero, too.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, too, heralde. He must have had such a big heart. You're lucky to have known him.

I agree 100 %Caroline. When I was in NY earlier this year,he & I had a serious talk in his kitchen & I told him how proud I was of him,and how I honored I feel to be his sister.

I echo with what Caroline has said, heralde.I'm not normally religious but I'm sure God has a special place in Heaven for those that didn't survive the attack.Your friend is probably among them.

The 9-11 tribute was great, but I have to admit, waved my mouse over the banner expecting to see some Muppets pop up. Then I realized, "of course there aren't going to be any Muppets popping up!" Silly!

I felt that there really shouldn't be anything - logo or Muppetwise - on the menu strip. That's why the MC logo disappears before the screen pops up. This menu usually passes by quietly and unnoticed.

What can be said about that day? The menu image was the only way to communicate my feelings. Part of me still can't believe that it happened. And the personal stories - individuals lost - not just a landmark or a group. People. Loved ones.

I'm sorry for your loss heralde. Thank you for sharing about your brother's heroism, Kathy.

missed the 9/11 banner

I missed the 9/11 banner I was out that day getting my substitute teaching license renewed. As most of the people here know I was there when it happened. You can look through the archives for my poem. I haven't put it back on my computer's hard drive yet (we had a major crash earlier this year).

Thanks for all the thoughts, guys!

And yes you should definitely be proud of your brother. I can kinda understand his feelings. My Grandfather was actually a firefighter and he always had the attitude that the risks were just part of the job.
