Hi one & all,
I got home from NY a couple of hours ago. Let me just say the trip was fabulous! First off,my family & I were going to see Beauty & the Beast on Broadway last Friday night. (which I.as well as my mom & sister) knew. But what we DIDN'T know was that my older brother rented a stretch limo for us to go in!WOW!:excited: And the show was awesome!I'd never been to a Broadway show (or in a stretch limo) before,so I enjoyed this experience big time!
Saturday was just an ordinary day. Bonded with both my nieces The baby's getting cuter than ever & I played some games w/my 7 yr. old niece. The kid's getting a bit fresh though & her dad caught her on it.So she was sent to her room for mouthing off to her stepmom and to me.I'll admit when she was in her room crying while her dad called her mom,I felt kind of sorry for her. What can I do though, right?
OK...next day was Sunday :my baby niece's christening day.She looked precious! Now before I continue with the story,I remember telling my mom that it was too bad that my
aunt/godmother couldn't be there.So,OK...we get to the church & there's a couple standing there.I politely said hello before I did a double take!IT WAS MY AUNT GODMOTHER & HER HUSBAND! My WHOLE family had tricked me that week! My mother had told me that my sis in law's cousins were staying w/my brother & sis in law when it was actually my aunt & stepuncle that'd be staying there! Not ONE of them mentioned a word that they were going to be there! Talk about SURPRISED!
Monday was just a regular day. Then came today. I really didn't want to come home, but unfortunately I had to. I kept my composure from NY until we were coming home from the airport here. That's when I lost it (and why I put "Home semi sweet home) I was crying about how distance rots, how I wanted to live in NY again, etc. I knew I'd see my nieces again and my family has lives of their own but it was still tough. My sister reassured me that she feels upset too when we leave NY.So I guess I'm not alone.
Thanks for reading this,guys.*smile*

Aw... You might not want to come back to your actual home, but I bet it feels good to finally be there at "your" home.
Big hugs to you Kathy, hope everything goes smoothly at the vet, er um, doctor.

Well,yeah...I guess. My brother's house has a lot of stairs, and I'm not overly crazy about going up & down stairs since my footing is off & I might trip.

Welcome back, Kathy! Wow, what a trip you had. How cool that you got to go to Beauty and the Beast in a limo! That is so awesome! And how sweet that you were able to see your aunt/godmother at the christening! I'm so happy you had such a great time.

I can completely understand not wanting to come back home after a great vacation. But maybe you'll be able to go back again sometime soon? Hopefully, anyway! And we're glad to have you back!

I guess the old saying is true :"Don't be sad because it's over.Smile because it happened." The baby had a tight grip on one of my fingers on the way to the airport.I'll remember the feel of it & her soft skin.
Oh yeah..forgot to mention (to everybody actually) my brother & sister in law gave me a picture of the baby & me in a frame as a thank you for being her godmother. So that's definitely going on my computer desk!

Welcome home, Kathy!

I am so glad you had such a wonderful time and I'm also glad you enjoyed Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I've seen a lot of shows on Broadway, but not that one. I've seen some pretty well done regional theater productions of it though. I'm sure you miss your family. It's tough but I'm sure you'll see them again before you know it.

Hi Bry!
Believe it or not, this was my first time seeing a Broadway play. Talk about magical!
Oh yeah..speaking of magical ,I forgot to mention this last night. Back when I first mentioned to my godmother that I was going to be a godmother to my niece,I asked her if I could have her fairy godmother wand. And I stressed "fairy godmother" a couple of times before she got it.So after the christening,we're at my brother's & she pulls out a wand that when you turn it on,it lights up!LOL! She said it was actually from Wal-Mart but it would do:smile:
The picture of the baby & me is right next to my computer. And the picture of my 7 year old niece & I is on my computer too. I'll be seeing them in December when we go on a short cruise around Christmas time.
