My big news.

Well, ladies and gents, it is official. Come February, yours truly will be a first time uncle!

My sister and her husband announced around Father's Day that they are expecting their first child. The way they told us was really sweet. They gave my Dad a card that said "Happy Father's Day, Grandpa!" and included a picture of my sister holding a pregnancy test with the two pink lines clearly showing. We're all really excited... this is the first new baby in our immediate family for eighteen years.

The downside, however, is that my brother-in-law is in the military, and was just stationed in Qatar (which is an island off of Iraq). His tour of duty is supposed to be over in March or April, and then he can come home for good. Fortunately, his is being brought back stateside, and will finish up his service time in Tampa, Florida. So, he will be absent through most of the pregnancy and even the first month or two after the baby is born, but we are all thankful that at least he'll be in the U.S. and not Iraq during this time.

But whatever the case, a little pink or blue bundle is just what this family needs!

Oh wow, congratulations! I've been an uncle for a LONG time since just about all of my siblings are well into their years and have families and children of their own, so I have quite a few nieces and nephews (well a few nephews, but only one niece); and they ALL can be quite the little rugrats in their own rights. But anyway, congratulations, and here, have a cigar!

Oh my pey jenk i am so happy to hear that you are going to be a uncle that so great , i am so sorry though that your brother in law is not going to be able to be around for most of the pregnacy and then the first couple of mothes of the babies life .

yes it is a wonderful thing that this wonderful bundle of joy that is coming your family and you are so lucky babies are the best blessing ever .
