Well, I'm currently reading this book on... all kinds of things (can't think of the name right now XP).
It's from the 70s, some some may consider it out of date, but a lot of it is still quite relavant. Y'know how people today are talking about solar-power air conditioning and saying it's a very modern concept and all that? There's a whole chapter on it in this book I'm reading, and it's 35 years old!

Good luck with "That Hideous Strength;" it's an interesting book, but a little weird at times.

These days, I'm working on "The Snake Stone," by Jason Goodwin. It's a murder mystery set in Istanbul in the 1830s. I'm only a little ways into it so far, but I'll let you guys know what I think once I'm done.
I also just re-read "Well of Lost Plots," part of Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next series. The whole series is hilarious, and very cleverly written - there are jokes that only someone who's read classic literature will understand.

I read Stormbreaker. That was an insane (in a good way) book.

Right now I'm going to try to tackle Christine  so many pages with super small font!

I just finished reading "Who Censored Roger Rabbit?" (which was later loosely adapted into the fantastic film: "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?") and loved it.

Was very different from the movie that was based off of it, but still a great great (I'll be honest...I like the movie better).

Finished "the hideous strength". It was really interesting, although one of the villains creeped me out. *cringes* but i think that was the point.

Just started H G Wells "First men in the moon"

I'm working on a couple of books right now. I'm still working on "The Snake Stone," and last night I started "The Wreck of the River of Stars," by Michael Flynn. Today, while I was in New York on my afternoon off, I found a shop specializing in French-language books, and I picked up a mystery called "L'Homme de Londres" (The Man from London) by Georges Simenon.

As for ones I've finished recently: there's one called "The Blue Rose," by Anthony Eglin. It's about a couple who find a blue rosebush growing in the garden of the house they've just bought, and since a blue rose is the Holy Grail of the horticulture world, they find themselves being besieged and threatened by desperate growers. It's a cool book, nicely written.

I also just finished "The Shipping News," by Annie Proulx. Wonderful book, both silly and poignant at times. The copy's on loan from my grandmother, so I might have to see about getting my own copy one of these days.

Here's another one I just finished up: "First Rider's Call," by Kristen Britain. It's a fantasy novel with a shade of sci-fi. The heroine is a young woman named Karigan; she belongs to a group of royal messengers called the Green Riders. Their kingdom is under attack by a malignant life force left over from a long ago war, and Karigan and her cohorts have to try to stop it. It's a really good read.
