I like the part at the beginning when he has to greet the Duke brothers in their car "Good morning, Mr. Duke! Good morning, Mr. Duke!" and then has to hurry to catch up with them, hehe.

That's a great scene because it mostly relies on silent acting to get the message across. Wilson starts out all confident and by the end...well if you see it you know.

Yeah, they only acknowledge his existence with "Wilson." To them, he's just another cog in the machine, another employee with the Dukes' wingtip prints up and down his back.

Just thought of something: you know how a lot of Muppet fans compare Scooter to Radar in M*A*S*H, in that they're the ones who keep things running behind the scenes?

It's the same here. Richard - that is, Wilson - is efficiently doing the Dukes' bidding, but he has his concerns while his bosses are all over-confident and puffed-up. And that's the way it is with Radar and some of the commanding officers - like Col. Blake and Maj. Burns.

Oh yeah, you can't really dislike those characters because they're just trying to be loyal in a naive way, hehe.

A Tough Pigs contributor wrote a few little Haiku poems for each episode of The Muppet Show:

Episode 208: Steve Martin
The show is canceled,
But what’s that constant guffaw?
Pipe down, Richard Hunt!

(chuckle) I like that. See also: the Peter Ustinov episode, and the Valerie Harper episode (especially the Japanese cake sketch)...

Richard's got a laugh like a machine gun - I'm amazed they even needed a laugh track when they had Richard on the set.

Check out Tough Pigs' main page; they've got a posting about the Muppet Peter Pan comic book, by Grace Randolph - Kermit's cast as Peter, and get this: Janice is playing Wendy, Scooter's playing John, and I think Bean's been cast as Michael. So we get a double dose of Richard in the casting - nice!:flirt:

Very true, it's the kind of laugh people pay more attention to than the jokes being told!

I did see that comic book on Tough Pigs, very cute! I like that Piggy is TinkerBell, it makes sense given Piggy's often jealous nature, hehe. Actually I was always kinda surprise Piggy wasn't more jealous of Janice, who obviously had the more "acceptable" female figure. Not to mention a willing boyfriend!

If anything Janice seems occasionally jealous of Piggy for having a bigger part!

J: "Tonight the part of Dorothy is played by..."

P: "I'm not ready!"

J: "Uh, no problem! Tonight the part of Dorothy is played by me!

P: "...I'm ready!"

J: "Oh bummer....::sigh::"

Yeah, and people will wonder who the person going to pieces off-camera is.

It said somewhere that they wanted to use all live laughter for the Steve Martin show, but because Richard's own laugh was so loud they had to add some canned cackles as well. "Nobody could go up to that level!"

And it's true about how Miss Piggy didn't feel threatened by Janice...guess it's because there was Annie Sue.

Thanks for the welcome - we moved up here back at the start of June. We were gunning for sticky status, but in order to get it we had to move shop. So here we are!
