A.k.a King Julien of the lemurs in "Madagascar."

And heralde, I also caught some of the updates in your blog - including how he had to deal with teasing at school (including using offerings of candy to make friends) and all that. It's a nice piece of web writing, and keep up the good work!

Had a chance to watch "Wembley's Flight" last night; I'm working through the discs a few episodes at a time, so as to prolong the enjoyment. And here's my take: it's a really sweet episode, and it's really fulfilling to see Wembley take that one last flight around the Rock. Richard was incredible, and oh-so-witty, as the Spiderfly ("I'm not in it for the bugs, you know."), and he and Steve did some really nice harmony on "Free and High." (which sounded, to my ears, like a precursor to "Just a Dream Away," in terms of the tune)

A couple of times, I spotted the top of Richard's head down below the Spiderfly, so there's something else to look for.

Wow, Steve, that's so great that you're coming! And press, hmmm? Gang, we've got a bigshot amongst us.
 I can't wait to see all of you there! Oh, and Haralde, if we do indeed meet up there, will we get to learn your real name?

Only Fraggle Rock could get away with a gender confused fairy godmother, lol.

And thanks for the support, MN! The hardest part is just sitting down to write sometimes, but once you're there, it's worth it.

Lol, yeah that shouldn't be a problem.

Or a gender-confused Trash Heap, as evidenced in that one episode where the Fraggles stopped the Gorgs from tossing Marjory into the stream, but ended up with her being a little confused about who she was. "Marjory! She's a fella!"

And trust me, heralde, I know all about writer's block; for a reporter, it's the second-biggest pain in the neck. (The biggest pain in the neck being sources who never return your phone calls.) But there are some things which ease the block, a pending deadline being one of them.

So far, it looks as if there are 21 forum members going to the 40th anniversary event, by my last count. Looks like there's a sprinkling of people in J and K, and a few up in the loge.

Yeah it's so great! I guess it's because we all ordered tickets at relatively the same time. I still can't believe so many people are able to go. I didn't think I'd be able to go, lol, I really had to push for it and take a chance. I mean, of course as soon as I saw the "as a tribute to Richard Hunt", I was motivated, hehe.

Same here...and I wonder what Frank and the others are going to have to say about Richard at the event?

It's one of those things that you don't think you'll ever get to see or do - and when you do get to see or do it, it's a little unreal, in a good way.

I know! It's funny too, just a few days before I found out about it I was thinking, "Man, I'd still love to know more about him." Lol

Exactly! Can you recall another time when you've experienced that? Where you just can't believe you're there and it's wonderful and you wish it would never end?

Probably when I went to my first Beatles tribute concert when I was 12, and then later seeing the real Ringo Starr live. And then seeing the rare Marx Brothers musical on stage and knowing I'd never get to see it again (the drawbacks of theater lol). And the world's best Groucho Marx impersonator a few months ago. 3 hours long!...Yet I still never wanted it to end.

I know the feeling - if it's something you've been really looking forward to, it goes by really fast.

And on a slightly different topic, I took in "Gone But Not Forgotten." So sad...and there's Wembley in the cave, reduced to tears at the thought of Mudwell's peach and pepper potage with turnip toast.
Richard really delivered the goods as Mudwell...sure, he goes in a lot for the wild, goofy characters, but here's where he showed off his more wistful side. (And it was a little eerie when Wembley returned to Mudwell's cave and found the cocoon on the edge of the mud pool.)
