Hey, Sara, how's it going?

A couple of posts back, heralde posted the link to someone's MySpace page - it's got several photos of Richard on it, including close-ups of the program from his memorial service at St. John the Divine - if you haven't already, check it out.

I'm glad the Sesame Street event is happening soon; I really need it. I've just been very unhappy lately. The state of the world, things in my life, nothing has been going right. I don't know how to be happy or even to stay occupied when things go so wrong, especially for other people. I feel guilty being happy. Sorry for the venting, I just don't know what to do sometimes. I don't know, I guess we just have to find ways to muttle through.

I can actually relate to how your feeling even though I don't know exactly how you're feeling if that makes any sense to you, lol. Anyway, yeah, it can be hard to be a happy or find happiness when the state of the world isn't so great and when things in your personal life are not going the best. It can all just seem over whelming somtimes. But everybody deserves to have and to feel at least a little bit of happiness every now and then.

Wow...sounds like you've been having some of those days. And I know just where you're coming from on a lot of that; I've had days where my mood's so blue that it's closer to dark indigo. And I've had guilty feelings too, where I think, "I don't deserve this," or "I'm completely spoiled," or "I shouldn't be enjoying this," that sort of stuff.

It's a tough world, let's face it. But I guess the thing to do is just do what you can in this life and everything else will eventually work out.

*Pops in for a moment. Hope everyone going to the SST event and RH tribute next Friday has a great time there. But while I stopped by... I've been reworking my massive Muppet Listings for its next updated version. And after going through some of the additions I neglected to input, namely all the Christmas characters, there's one RH character I'd like to highlight. It's one that most seem to gloss over cause he doesn't stand out from his rough ruffian running crowd. So I open the floor to discuss Fred Lizard from Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas. :batty: ;()

Well, since I've not seen Emmet Otter, I really can't talk about Fred Lizard, other than the fact that he's part of the Riverbottom band. But since he's one of the bad guys, it's a safe bet that Richard had fun playing him - like I said a while back, it's to counterbalance his past as a Boy Scout and as Closter's favorite paper boy.

And somebody mentioned that there was one early SS sketch involving a group of gangster types, and one of the sidekicks, one with a very familiar voice, kept saying "You tell him, boss!" So I'll bet Fred was the same.

One of the other reporters at work today said, "Hey, William Paterson's holding something called 'Sesame Street at 40.'" And I said, "Oh, yeah, I'm going to that." It's almost hard to believe that it's only a few days away now.

Thanks for all the kind words, hanging in there.

I showed Emmett Otter to a friend a couple years ago; he was quite amused at how after awhile you could tell the same guys were playing the cute furry good guys and the nasty rockin bad guys, lol.

I would say the Lizard sort of sounds like the SS gangster guy except maybe a bit older. I do like his little fringe jacket though, very '70s, lol.

I received a brochure from WP the other day and they had an advertisement for the event. I'll keep it in my scrapbook, hehe.

Yeah...and on a similar note, I remember watching TMM when I was about seven; that was when I had just started learning the names of who played whom in the Muppets.
When Kermit and Fozzie were singing "Movin' Right Along," I suddenly realized that they sounded just like Ernie and Bert. So I said to myself, "Jim Henson and Frank Oz must play Ernie and Bert, too."

I'm also wondering if WP's student newspaper is going to have a reporter assigned to this; if it's so, I wonder what the article's going to look like? "Muppet freaks turn out in droves for SS event."
