I can still ride on water rides (just not the ones with steep drops), since they're a godsend on hot days. But roller coasters make me break out in a cold sweat - I've never been on one with loops, and I'm certainly not planning on riding one.
I don't do well on rides anymore, but my mom fares worse. She's given me permission to tell you guys about one ride that really did her in years ago. It was a Tilt-a-Whirl-type ride in Kearny (NJ), combined with a recently devoured funnel cake, the smell of diesel fuel from the ride itself and the awful odors coming out of the Passaic River...'nuff said.
Yeah, the names must have been a tradition in the Henson company. Steve was Stevie, and Dave's been called Davey, and Richard himself once referred to Jane Henson as Janie. But I still have no clue where he came up with Christine's nickname (Gumbelina). (That is a rather cute story that Jacquie Gordon told in her book about Christine.)
