Hey Erin... If you could hit me up with what this quilt of specialness was like, I'd appreciate it.

*Waves and hugs to Sara, hope you liked what I sent you.
BTW: Never eating caramel apples again, only way would be to modify it into apple slices dipped into a more liquidy caramel sauce instead.
UD: Mmm, bobbing for scaramel apple slices, what a defrightful proposition. Hope noone else gets the poisoned skull or scab apples though.

Well, let's see...it's about 36 inches by 36 inches, made on a 7x7 grid.

I cut out seven squares each from each of the seven colors in the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet). I then cut each square in half, into two triangles, and then I sewed the triangles back together, with a strip of fabric in a complementary color (red/green, blue/orange, yellow/violet and all vice versa) in the middle.

In the first row, I put together seven squares in the order they'd appear on the spectrum (red to violet). In the second row, same drill but then I started the row with orange, so that each color gets moved over one space, and so on. So you've got staggered rows of color going diagonally across the quilt - and I arranged the squares so that their inner strips made a criss-cross pattern all over - does that help?

Really lovely, MN! They're bound to love it.

Too bad the DVD didn't work, Meep, did you tell Steve? So you don't have to pay twice and all.

I'll definitely take a look at your journal, Sara!

I'm sure they did - I mean, Jane looked really ecstatic on the DVD.

A few other things: yes, heralde, there was a photo of Amanda on there, as a little kid. But it was just of her, though; no crazy uncles in there with her. Jane also showed off a few photos of Adam.

There were a number of photos on the piano, including some of Jane with three of her granddaughters (Rachel's daughters). And she revealed that all the kids had to call her "Grandmother," and anyone who dared call her "Grandma" did so on pain of death.
Hehe, reminds me of how Richard was always Richard, and NO nicknames, hehe.

And thanks MN, that's cool that you got to see pics of Amanda and Adam!
