Wow, where did someone dig that one up?

Tonight, Mom and I took in The Muppet Movie, in Richard's honor...and we've quoted along at least one-third of the lines. Proof that we've seen the movie too many times, hmm?

I know seriously? Anyway, it's so adorable. And funny how one of the Elves sounds sort of like a proto Scooter!

I think you also hear a familiar singing voice during the group song at the end over the credits!

Aw that's so nice! My friend and I used to do that "No we can't take that, that's a river" scene, lol. Any new insights?

I briefly wondered what the $500 that Doc Hopper offered Kermit would be today if you adjusted for inflation, and I looked once again for Jerry and Richard's cameos in the El Sleezo (there was a bearded guy who looked a lot like Jerry, but I couldn't get a good look at the other guy at the table, since he had a hat on and Kermit's head was in the way).

Earlier today, I replayed MuppetCast #70 for Mom - she really wants to hear #71. And she told me something: it sounds like the storm Steve referred to, the one that had Richard perched on the roof of Beaker's Breakers, watching the waves - she thinks that one would have been Hurricane Bob (which hit in the summer of 1991). My grandmother was on Cape Cod at the time Bob hit - in fact, she was staying up on that part of the Cape - near Truro and Provincetown.

Anyway, storm imagery aside, I really like the mental image of Richard sitting on the porch at Beaker's Breakers, just watching the ocean, or just going for a long walk on the beach. That was the image I had when Amanda first told us about Beaker's Breakers.

For wwfpooh:

The belt is from the Attitude Era, with a snakeskin inner lining. I believe from what Rob's told me that this was the belt that Steve Austin's wife had at one point. Rob had given me the belt bag that came with his spinner belt (WWE Spinning Championship Belt), until he can get me a replacement belt bag that actually fits it.

To everyone else:

Gosh, I just can't wait for I don't know what. I'm so on edge, and I don't know why. I'll try to let you guys know once I know what it is.

Glad to hear from you Sara. Do let us know when you find out what "it" is. Maybe it's the same "it" others of us are waiting to find out too. *Slight sigh.

As for the storm... Not sure if it would've been named Bob. If it was 1991 we're talking about, wasn't that the year Hurricane Andrew devastated Florida? If so, the B-storm would've been given a female name, as that's how the storm naming pattern goes. Then again, I might be wrong.

Eh, it's all relative. *Pours some fruit punch from the party and drinks to Richard's health.

No, Andrew hit in 1992 (by which time Richard was unavailable to get a rooftop view of any storms). I was six and a half at the time, and I remember seeing all the storm coverage on the news and the Weather Channel back in the day.

But, yeah, Andrew was bad enough that they retired the name and put it on the Wall of Shame (and there have been quite a few entries to the wall in the last ten years).

So it was Hurricane Bob then? I had about seven months of forming remaining at that point. I'm so glad the full moon was Richard's birthday though. Kind of like how the weather was oddly beautiful that day in January.

Anyway I saw a box of flamingos today and thought of what you said about the zoo, heralde.

Well now, I've been busy doing what I've been planning for today, that I forgot to say happy birthday to dear Richard(Well, on the internet that is. Several times today, I would look up at the sky and think 'Happy Birthday, Richard.') I watched his cameo on GMC; watched his onscreen appearances on Trading Places and Oxford Blues; watched episodes of TMS where his characters play prominent roles(Juliet Prowse, Jim Nabors, Gilda Radner, Judy Collins, Lynn Redgrave, & Steve Martin. I also watched the Swedish Chef segment in the Valerie Harper episode where you hear Richard laughing. I was planning on watching more episodes, but that's all I could get through without having to cut other things out of the day that I had planned.) Lastly, I listened to episodes 41, 57, and 70 of MuppetCast.

Anyway, I still have time, I should say it before it's too late. Happy Birthday, Richard! (I'm probably three hours behind most of you. So it really still is Richard's birthday where I am. That is, for another ten minutes or so.)
