Indeed...I have a transcript of Richard's speech on my computer, and I read it sometimes if I'm feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders (which is becoming more and more frequent these days). Besides, just listening to his voice is good for the psyche as well - he sounds like someone you'd want to sit down and share your troubles with.
And as the puppetry journal article pointed out, Richard's speech takes on a new level of poignancy when you consider his health at the time. You'd never know that he had a terminal illness just from looking at him and listening to him, but still...
That said, I'd love to see footage of Richard's second speech...that's when he really gets going.
