Sorry, I missed a bunch of posts. My..erm..sort of boyfriend called while I was in the middle of typing, and he's one of those people who has apparently never heard of a short phone conversation, lol!
Yeah Heralde, I sort of figured it was one of those kind of shops. Aren't they fun?
You know, I always thought of us here at MC as really making abreviating everything an art, lol, but I have noticed the muppeteers always referring to FR as "Fraggle". Infact, I've started to do it myself on some occasions, as a result of listening to them so much.
As for the music group, it's kind of hard to say. I guess it's mostly ambient, (which I don't normally listen to), but with heavier vocals than ambient usually has. The reason I like them so much is the great emotion and immagery much of their music conjurs up. The first album is mostly chanting in other languages, the second is singing and some more chanting, in English this time, and is the most overtly religious of all of them, and may prove the most sensative. The third, Opera, is my favorite, and the one where the man does most of his singing, and reminds me the most of Richard. The two individual songs where I think this is most prominent are "The Lovers Waltz" and "Dedication," but you be the judge when and if you ever hear them. Also, "Sun and Moon" is another beautiful track on that album.
This is the last streaming album that they work together on, and then comes each of their solo work, which, in my personal opinion, isn't quite that good. The first ones are his, and the first one or two are straight techno, which fortunately I was talking on the phone at the time, so I only heard in the background. Yeah, I know that was mean, but I rully don't like that type of music. The next one is sort of rap-ish, which I generally don't like either, but it was affirming, and so I made an exception. The first one made me laugh because it had him rapping in what sounded like a northern English accent, and remember what Martin Baker said? the second song I didn't like, until I looked at it from the perspective of making fun of gangsta rap, and then I laughed at it also.
After that album, comes a change again, this time moving to the more newagey end of Ambient. You know, the type of synth music that rully doesn't have rythem, but just sort of flows? Not rully into that type either, but all together this makes for an interesting musical adventure. Ooh, now one is playing that has a pretty Asian sound to it!
That answer your question?
Sorry for the ramble.
