Sorry, I missed a bunch of posts. My..erm..sort of boyfriend called while I was in the middle of typing, and he's one of those people who has apparently never heard of a short phone conversation, lol!
Yeah Heralde, I sort of figured it was one of those kind of shops. Aren't they fun?
You know, I always thought of us here at MC as really making abreviating everything an art, lol, but I have noticed the muppeteers always referring to FR as "Fraggle". Infact, I've started to do it myself on some occasions, as a result of listening to them so much.
:smirk:

As for the music group, it's kind of hard to say. I guess it's mostly ambient, (which I don't normally listen to), but with heavier vocals than ambient usually has. The reason I like them so much is the great emotion and immagery much of their music conjurs up. The first album is mostly chanting in other languages, the second is singing and some more chanting, in English this time, and is the most overtly religious of all of them, and may prove the most sensative. The third, Opera, is my favorite, and the one where the man does most of his singing, and reminds me the most of Richard. The two individual songs where I think this is most prominent are "The Lovers Waltz" and "Dedication," but you be the judge when and if you ever hear them. Also, "Sun and Moon" is another beautiful track on that album.
This is the last streaming album that they work together on, and then comes each of their solo work, which, in my personal opinion, isn't quite that good. The first ones are his, and the first one or two are straight techno, which fortunately I was talking on the phone at the time, so I only heard in the background. Yeah, I know that was mean, but I rully don't like that type of music. The next one is sort of rap-ish, which I generally don't like either, but it was affirming, and so I made an exception. The first one made me laugh because it had him rapping in what sounded like a northern English accent, and remember what Martin Baker said? the second song I didn't like, until I looked at it from the perspective of making fun of gangsta rap, and then I laughed at it also.
After that album, comes a change again, this time moving to the more newagey end of Ambient. You know, the type of synth music that rully doesn't have rythem, but just sort of flows? Not rully into that type either, but all together this makes for an interesting musical adventure. Ooh, now one is playing that has a pretty Asian sound to it!

That answer your question?
:smirk: Sorry for the ramble.

No prob, lol, I always think I'm rambling. That's really shocking how the group does so many different genres. I guess you must find something you like somewhere! I'll try to see it sometime.

You know, I was watching a trial on TV once, and it suddenly occured to me that one of the lawyers sounded a lot like Richard, lol. It was like he was right there in front of you, lol. He spoke for a long time and let's just say I never changed the channel, lol.

Oh, so you mean I'm not the only one that does that? I love the Scottish accent. One time I was watching this show on Animal Plannet, it ended, and another show came on that I wasn't interested in seeing. I kept watching it though, just because the narrator had a Scottish accent. It took the first commercial break to break the spell, and I turned it off.
:embarrassed: I told my friend the story later and he laughed at me.
Richard had, in my opinion, a rather distinct voice, so it's kind of cool when I hear others that come close to emulating it. I once worked at a summer camp with a guy that sounded a little bit like him. This was back when I was first rediscovering the muppets from my childhood, and just beginning to learn about the people behind them. He had that kind of post-nazle sound. Ever notice that?
I hope the Richard soundalike lawyer was on your side! Or is that vice versa? lol

Oh I ADORE Scootish accents; they are just so different and pleasant to listen to, lol.

I forget what side the lawyer was on. But he did put on a good case! Lol

Know what I found today? Pretty surprising. An old record album entitled, "Perhaps Love--Placido Domingo with John Denver"!  :excited:

Not a duo I ever thought I'd see together. Can't wait to hear how it sounds!

Hehe, a lawyer that sounded like Richard, huh? What a cool thing to randomly run across! Richard had such a nice voice!

Oh and heralde, John Denver and Placido Domingo make a great pair! They sound wonderful together. I'm not big on opera (well, except for Placido Flamingo, of course ) but they're terrific together. I hope you like it!

Thank you for thinking about me. I'm confident things will turn out well.

BTW Does anybody know if Placido Domingo ever appeared on Sesame Street? I can imagine him singing a duet with Placido Flamingo.

Ohh, so you've heard it! Cool, yeah I'm definitely intrigued.

I've never been an Opera fan, though I did like a little bit of The Marriage of Figaro and Carmen. But my friend keeps trying to get me to go, and I think I'm going to give it a try at some point.

Has anyone seen the old '80s movie Amadeus? Crazy!

That's great. Thank you heralde.
I think I must have seen it a long time ago before as a child since the way Bill Cosby exclaims "the 2 Placidos" during the introductory segment seems to trigger a vague flash of memory.

Once again thanks a bunch heralde.

No prob! I remember seeing that special on TV for the first time too. It was such an event; all the neighbors had watched it too, lol. One of my neighbor's favorite parts was seeing John John as a grown up.

Placido Domingo did an interview once describing the guest appearance, saying the flamingo's puppeteer kept saying to the cast and crew, "Oh look, the imposter is here!" LOL
