I do think she was referring to Amanda; she mentioned that this grand daughter's Mother was Richard's older sister.

"Some website somewhere..." oh, yeah, yeah, she probably means that band of loonies called the RHLC...ever hear of them?
Oh yeah those wackos, always discussing random crazy things; they need to get lives!

Hehe, anyway, on to the next random crazy thing; it looks like the 3rd season of The Muppet Show will be released in May! Here are some episodes I'm definitely looking forward to:

Lynn Redgrave: Otherwise known as the one where Scooter frantically tries to balance directing and luting (as Alan a Dale that is).

Pearl Bailey: I think the first episode where we learn Floyd and Janice have started taking the phrase "make sweet music together" literally, hehe. Plus Janice continues to become her groovy self, particularly when speaking to Kermit in the beginning.

Leo Sayer: I'm sorry, I just ADORE Leo's rendition of "When I Need You." ::melts:: Also, I'm reminded of Leo's other Muppet appearance, when our puppet friends hosted The Tonight Show in the '70s. Leo has a nice long chat with Kermit and Scooter about a variety of topics. It actually comes across very natural, like it's three guys discussing anything that comes to mind (it may very well have been at least partially unscripted). Leo discusses his previous Muppet Show appearance, and asks Scooter if he remembers any of the Cockney Rhyming Slang he taught him. Again, very natural, which leads me to wonder if Richard was the one whom Leo taught the famous "english English." Hehe

Gilda Radner: Gilda, Beaker, Bunsen's crazy glue...need we say more?

Raquel Welch: This was one of the episodes included on the Time Life Muppet Show DVD I used to rent, the one that was such a beacon of hope to me during a difficult time. And perhaps the most risque moment in Muppet history! :embarrassed:

Roy Rogers and Dale Evans: I haven't seen this one, but I recall Jerry Nelson saying Roy and Dale were so sweet and reminded you of being around your Grandparents, hehe.

Danny Kaye: We actually see Statler and Waldorf outside the balconey for once and Kermit pays them a very sweet (and surprising) compliment in the end. :boo:

Liberace: The concert for the birds really brings an air of Art and culture to the Muppet Show and excellently showcases Liberace's talent, which was lost too soon.

Yeah, I thought that was Amanda - just had to make sure.

I saw that season 3's supposed to be coming out in May - and judging the date, it'll be close to commencement for me. Guess I know what I'm getting myself as a graduation present...

Oh, so Scooter picked up a bit of cockney rhyming slang? I know a little bit of it, things like "trouble and strife (wife)," "bees and honey (money)" and "Glasgow rangers (strangers)."

And I love Richard's English accent - and Pete Coogan told his story about how Richard could do a rather convincing north-of-England accent. I'd have wanted to hear that.

Yeah I don't know if there's any of that in Leo's Muppet Show appearance, but it was definitely a big deal on The Tonight Show. I wish I could remember exactly what they said, I'll have to check it out again at some point. I remember Leo was trying to get Scooter to recall one phrase and Scooter was all eager as if to say "Oh wait, I know this!" Leo said the first half of the phrase, which seemed to jog Scooter's memory and he was able to say the last half himself. It was very cute, lol.

It was funny, the three of them just kept talking, almost like the audience wasn't there, lol. Eventually you felt like saying to Jim and Richard, "Just put the puppets down and let us see you!" But of course we weren't that lucky, lol.

Thanks for sharing those, MN, now I know more! I already knew "up the apples and pears" means up the stairs, "frog and toad" means road, "jockey's whips" is chips (or French fries as we say in America!), and "sixes and sevens" means crazy. Thank you Austin Powers, yeah baby! I also learned from the Beatles that "Crimble" means Christmas.

So if we wanted to say Scooter was going crazy because he had to run down the road and up the stairs at Christmas time for some French fries, when suddenly some crazy strangers demanded his money...we'd say:

"Scooter was all sixes and sevens during Crimble because he had to run down the frog and toad, up the apples and pears to fetch some jockey's whips, when suddenly some Glasgow rangers tried to take his bees and honey!"

Btw, are you nervous about graduation, MN?

Yes, I am. Sure, I'm excited and all that, but nervous too about all the changes of life that come with it.

I know, it's a shame we didn't see Jim and Richard - but after all, the show's all about the Muppets. Though it would have been fun to see Jim, Richard and Leo shooting the breeze in between takes.

Richard: (aiming water pistol) Pull!

It's been awhile since I've been on here. I just now started listening to this "MuppetCast".

It's neat so far. I'll comment more when I'm done listening to it.

Can't believe Steve mentioned the RHLC in the post. Wow, I still boggle sometimes at what this little club I started has become. Richard still inspires me to this day.

Yeah, Sara - trust us, you'll love it. Two hours, twenty minutes and a few seconds of all things Richard.

Hey, Richard, can I have a shot of that? I just came from the gym and I'm a little overheated.

*Hugs for Sara to see her here again. Don't want to spoil anything, but pay close attention to Jane Hunt's interview. You'll probably squee and figure out the reference in her ramblings to our little haven here.

Truly Christmas came to us at the RHLC twice this year!

Btw, I was recently given a very nice gift, a lovely brown Newsboy cap! I have always loved that style (my friends have bought them for me for years), but now obviously it has particular meaning, hehe.
