Oh man, no wonder I couldn't remember ever hearing Scooter say that, lol. That sounds hilarious! I really hope I get to see that someday!

Of course, Scooter's definitely no wimp! He's just so nice... only shows us his backbone when it's absolutely necessary!

Just had a quick scan of the remarks on RateItAll...grrrr, how dare they call our Scooter a sissy? (pause) Wonder what'd they'd be writing if Richard's spirit dropped in and let loose with a barrage of "Your face!" ?

But wow, I didn't know he started venting like that during the Rhyming Song. "Stop crying, Link!"

That's right, Muppetvision 3-D was on toward the end of Richard's run...once again, I'm thinking about that photo of him and Scooter on the set. Scooter's wearing his lab coat and resting his chin on top of Richard's head, and Richard's leaning against the stepladder, and wearing glasses. He's smiling a little bit at the camera, but he does look a little tired in that photo, the way I see it.

You know what's so frustrating? Apparently the Mickey Mouse Club TV show from the late '80s/early '90s had a contest and the winner got to spend a day with Jim Henson and friends (including Richard) and watch them put the 3-D show together. This boy won and they filmed the whole segement, but then there was some kind of dispute with the Disney deal and it was never aired! Aargh! Wouldn't that be nice to see? ! Lol

Also, don't know if this was just a rumor, but someone also wrote that the Muppet performers had to do a video for Disney explaining how to work and perform their characters when all those live Muppet shows were being performed at Disneyworld. Again, if that is true, that would be an awesome find!

Yeah, well, that's Disney for you. And I mean - that's one of the last moments with all the principal Muppet performers working together, so of course the fans would want to see that.

Oh, yes, Scooter is definitely following in Kermit's footsteps (or flippersteps) there. As in the Lynn Redgrave episode, Scooter's charged with keeping order when Kermit's off doing something else - and it seems that Richard kind of filled that same role for Jim later on during various productions.

I really hope they mention Richard's directing debut on the last Fraggle Rock DVD. Well I hope they finish the collection period! Have to see "Gone But Not Forgotten!" Hehe

Ok, some of you might remember that I was asking out of nowhere one day about the clip of "Just One Person" from the memorial, lol. Because I noticed there was some talking at the end of the clip and I was trying to figure out what it was. Well I think I've finally got it down.

It was quite difficult, becaues obviously the clip is pretty old and there's that loud applause in the background. Now I understand why people thought John Lennon said "I buried Paul" on "Strawberry Fields!" (I can explain that more if anyone wants! Hehe)

Anyway, I think I've figured out most of the talking at the end of "Just One Person." You might remember how Meep said Richard had gone up to a kid near the stage who was crying. After hearing the clip a few times, I believe you can hear this exchange:

Richard: Why are you crying? Awww
Woman (presumably the kid's mother): He's sleepy!
Richard: Oh yeah? Aww,hehe. Better go home and get some sleep. You need to have a long snore! Lol

Doesn't that just melt your heart? Hehe

Hmm, I don't remember hearing anything other than applause at the end of "Just One Person," ('course, I only listened to it twice) but that certainly does sound like something Richard would say.

And it's like Jane, Jerry and Amanda have all said: Richard certainly had a way with children, and that little exchange gives us more proof of that. And the woman must have felt a little flattered, to see one of the famed Muppet performers come over and try to cheer her kid up.

It's ok, like I said, it's so hard to hear and understand. You really need to strain to hear anything, lol. But it's definitely there.

Of course I don't know, but I get the impression Richard might have known the people he was talking to. He seems to be saying the kid's name, but I can't make that out. Could have been an employee's family or perhaps a child who appeared on Sesame Street (I get the impression there were regulars on the show). Meep also said that Richard briefly talks to Jerry first (whom he was standing next to) and then goes over to the kid. It is nice to think that his first thought after the performance is over is to comfort a kid that was crying. Hehe

Btw, the story behind "Strawberry Fields." At the very end of the song you can hear John saying something that's also pretty unclear. Back in the '60s there was this rumor that Paul had died and some people thought John had said, "I buried Paul." In reality, according to all the sources, he actually said, "Cranberry Sauce" (not sure why, but it is John Lennon!). It just goes to show how our ears are not perfect and we don't always know what we're hearing! (Personally I always thought John was saying "I'm very slow." lol)

Either way, whether or not he knew the kid and the mom, it shows that Richard had his priorities in order when it came to young fans. After all, he did once tell Jerry, "Can you imagine the effect this has on a child's mind?"
