It sounds like I'd be able to identify with Telly. I have this bad habit of fretting about even small things, to the point that Mom says if worrying were an Olympic sport, I'd win the gold medal.

And it is for that reason that I'm glad there is a Muppet fan site for everyone to come and chat on.

And you know how we said, "If it bleeds, it leads?" I'm working on my latest student government article for the paper, and at their last meeting they brought up some rather unpleasant topics. For example, a bunch of Homecoming court candidates (it's HC week here) have had their posters vandalized, and a few candidates even got nasty e-mails.

Come on, that's the stuff you expect to have seen the last of in high school, right? And we're college students, and adults.

To be honest, I never liked Telly very much, lol. I myself am also a very worrying person, hehe. But for some reason he annoyed me with all his fretting and negative outlook. I think maybe it hit too close to home. Like I saw him as having given up and that bothered me, lol. I liked how he hung around with Oscar, but then I was disturbed at how easily he was led around. But hey, at least he was a deep character!

I have learned that there are some people who never leave high school. The world changes, but they don't. They're still thinking about cliques and gossip and proms, hehe. These are often people who had a ball in High School and just don't want to leave. It's not always beneficial to peak in High School, because then, what will you do for the rest of your life?

I understand college students even did that during the last presidential election; destroying each other's Bush or Kerry bumper stickers, lol. Seriously, you need to grow up. (Btw, I chose not to vote in that election for moral reasons. ).

I know what you mean. A lot of the people running now just don't hold a lot of the same morals or values that I have too much either. So it's like I just don't even want to participate. And then theirs the old say that it just seems as if your just going for the lesser of tow "evils", because they all have things and reasons why you wouldn't want to vote for somebody running. I tried to vote in the last election, but I couldn't because I had moved across town at the time and hadn't yet changed my identification card, so it was out of zone or somthing. But when I went across town I was denied to because I didn't live on that side of town either, LOL!

I think the "lesser of two evils" argument used to be valid. But for me, it's just gotten so crazy lately, I can't justify it. Not to go into detail, but I just don't see a respect for life in any of its forms in either party. I could vote for a third party candidate, but we all know they would have a great difficulty winning. I'm still trying to figure out what to do, heh.

Yeah! I know what you mean. All anybody seems to care about is their own self and their own needs. It's as if the people voting are just invisible and that their opinions don't matter. I know there's more to it then that. but on the surface it just doesn't add p to even a good start, you know?

Thanks, and I noticed they just added a photo, lol. It's the same one as the Richard cameo page, but still at least it's there! They made a few structural changes (putting the quotes within the body of the text rather than separate), but I can live with that. You have to learn to take advice from others if it makes the product better, hehe.

I just want to say abstaining from voting is not throwing your voice away. If you are doing it because your conscience honestly won't let you, then you are still making a statement. In my opinion, the system is letting everyone down and we do deserve better. Don't get me wrong, I have voted for propositions that I think are important. It's the matter of the President that can be more difficult.

But also, it's not good to abstain simply because you don't care or don't know enough. All of this affects you so it's important to keep informed and paricipate as best you can.

Man, that was something resembling a campagin speech, lol.

I know, honestly it's gotten so that we're just voting for the lesser of two evils whenever an election rolls around. I mean, I eagerly filled out a voter registration form on my 18th birthday, but I still approach elections and politics with a marked degree of cynicism (and having to report on student government for the paper hasn't decreased it at all).

I'm really glad to see someone finally put up a page for Del on Muppet Wiki, so thanks a lot, heralde! It looks really nice, very informative - and it looks as if the photo they used has Gertha (Del) about to snarl, "So were you?"

Exactly. And the balance is pretty important. The balance between changing your looks because you'd like to or to impress others is pretty important as well. Sometimes changing your looks can change who you are inside, possibly more confident, even if it's for a really strange reason, like your hair is up instead of down.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with make up. But you just cant let it define who you are as a person, LOL! I think once a person realizes that then you start to see that it isn't the most important thing in life.

I know - while Rita got her own page long ago. No fair...

I mean, Del is sort of a reflection of what Richard was/is in real life, a brilliant but crazy puppeteer who is excellent with children, and who'd be the best friend to a lot of people, but who has no patience for people with oversized egos. However, the difference seems to be is that Del is a little more willing to snap at his co-stars, while Richard might have been more likely to just tease them (unless he has to keep a group of second-tier puppeteers in line, but there you go).
