Yes, Jim and Richard and Jerry and Joe could put on a really great show for all the celestial types up in heaven. I mean, just think of all the guest stars they'd have up there: all the actors, musicians, singers, comedians, general weirdoes - not to mention all the high-ranking angels and saints...Mom and I sometimes joke that God can afford to hire the very best talent the universe has to offer.
Yeah that's nice, hehe. I always sort of pictured it like the way it was in The Jim Henson Hour where Jim was able to talk to and interact with the Muppets, actually be part of the show. Richard already enjoyed doing that of course, lol. But we rarely got to see it. One thing I'd like to think about Heaven is that everyone knows everyone, so there's no sense of "We can't show that person because they're not famous."

That's a really nice thought - in heaven, the talented unknowns would be given just as much stage time as those who were famous, and everyone would applaud loudly for them both. And they wouldn't be restrained by budgets or "industry surveys" or anything like that.

Exactly! Just as a quick side bar, people often assume Heaven must be boring because there's no work to be done. But others speculate that that's not exactly true. Rather that there is work, but it's not hampered by unfairness and misery (such as budget cuts or lay offs).

Right, there are no pink slips, no long boring meetings, no backstabbing or anything - this is heaven after all, and all that unpleasant junk gets left behind on Earth. And everyone gets three real, home-cooked meals a day and a nice comfortable bed (or cloud) to sleep in.

Let's see...several posts back, I think on the subject of the TMTM book and record set, several of us mentioned that Scooter made an excellent narrator. And then someone added that Richard would be really good at telling stories to kids.
Makes me wonder if, right now, Richard's up there with some of the much younger angels, telling them a bedtime story or something.

Yup, I was listening to that the other day actually, I wish I had the book to match! Lol It makes me love my favorite Muppet movie even more. Amazing how they were able to put such effort into their projects and merchandise.

"That's the turn the page bell!"

"I know!"

I actually even thought that about him when listening to his speeches at the memorial. Yeah it is a nice thought; people also speculate that you'd be given the job in Heaven that fits best with what you were good at on Earth.

You know... Those are good sentiments. Not to get too preachy on the subject, but I always think of Mark Twain's or Samuel Leghorn Clemens's (if you prefer) literary work titled "Letters from Satan" in which the titular character reports back to St. Paul what humans think heaven is, a bland boring dulled-out conservative place where all is a sort of sedate psych ward.

But to get back on topic... Do you know even Richard made himself a grouch? There's a song I remembered of from my Sesame memories... Got it from one of our MUP3 specialists, it's called "The Trashcan Tango". It's a song where Richard gets to use his bossy grouchy voice. And of course, lest us forget... There's the fine work he did with the Puppetman cast, of which I'd rully like to know more, especially Gertha (Richard's character) and Cinders. Kinda of need it as fanfic research.

But until next we meet... Sleep tight and may flights of angels clad in the boisterous laugh of the Muppets sing thee to thine peace.

I had heard of that, I really should read it. Mark Twain was a brilliant clever mind. Yeah I think it's normal to think of Heaven that way. First of all, we have trouble imagining a world without problems. And we know that a perfect world where nothing goes wrong will eventually become dull and staid. People don't grow without a bit of struggle.

Oh yeah lol "The Trashcan Tango", I remember coming across that once. I always loved the whole "backward" Grouch culture on Sesame Street. Lol

I did write a summary of Puppetman on this thread a few months ago after seeing it at The Museum of TV and Radio. And if you have any questions, feel free.
