Right now, not at all. The part about being an inconvenience to my parents made me feel terrible. You’re right, they won’t be able to drive me around forever. Guess it’s time to hit the books, but I’m still scared and nervous about it
I TOTALLY understand how you are feeling. My parents did the same exact thing towards me. And yes, I was nervous about driving. But after a few lessons here and there you'll get used to it and you won't feel nervous about it any longer. I started learning to drive at the end of May. And about the written exam: depending on where you live it will most likely be on the computer (multiple choice). Last year when I got my permit, I had to take it on the computer and got 8 out of 10 (therefore I passed). But the actual road test, well.... I didn't do so well. But I wasn't upset. I told myself I'll take it again and practice some more.

Like what @fuzzygobo mentioned being nervous is one thing, but the fear won't go unless you try it. I tried it and to be honest it was fun. But after awhile it became irritating due to the obnoxious drivers and trying to remember all the rules on the road (and my instructor being short tempered himself).

Mainly the part why I never wanted to drive in the first place because of having to place so much responsibility on my shoulders and they'll constantly nag me to cheauffer them around even though both of them can drive. I want to live life through me. I don't like it when they add pressure on me just to satisfy them. (I'm not going to go into much detail but you probably get the idea.)

But let me tell you this, you can have a license but NOT own a car! My cousin has a license but he doesn't have his own vehicle. And having a license is important because not only you know how to drive but certain jobs that you may want to work at might require you to have a driver's license.

Last word on this post, give driving a shot. You may or may not like it but at least you gave driving a chance. Now if your mother pressures you even more of driving tell her this: "Mom I will face my fears and give driving a chance. If I don't like it, I kindly ask you to stop pressuring me until I change my mind about it and ready to try again".

I've said enough.

Yes, the most important thing is not learning to drive, but conquering the fear of driving.
If you live in a big city and you can easily take a bus, subway, or walk, driving is not a big priority. But in the other 95% of the country, being able to drive may determine your livelihood.
And having to rely on someone else to drive (remember, you're on their timetable) can severely limit your options.

And not to make you worry, but injecting a dose of reality into the equation. Right now you may be depending on your mom to drive and meet your needs.
Someday in the future, 10, 20, 30 years from now, your mom might be depending on you.
What if your mom needs to get to a doctor and you can't drive?
You're both screwed.

The fact that I can't Sign out of YouTube from my phone. It use to have the Sign out option but they got rid of it and have "Incognito Mode". The H*LL YouTube! This is EXTREMELY STUPID of you guys!
"How do you feel about us taking out the Sign Out option for Incognito Mode"?
Hmmm let's see.....
