My fifth grade math teacher passed away last week after a long battle with cancer. I've been really depressed ever since. While you would normally think of a math teacher to be boring and uptight, this man was the exact opposite. He was by far one of the nicest staff members my old school had to offer. He sure did know how to put the cool in school with his frequent jokes and awesome references he'd make throughout the class (this guy was a fan of Phineas and Ferb. How bad could he be?). Thanks to his easy going, upbeat, and humorous personality he really knew how to brighten up all of our days. He even admitted one time that he had been showing kids funny videos in DETENTION of all places. That's a pretty cool teacher if you ask me. He also was a huge music lover and would perform a variety of song covers at the end of each Field Day. From The Counting Crows to The Black Crows to Old Crow Medicine Show to nearly every other band with the word "crow" in it's name, he performed all kinds of awesome music for us which only helped make the excitement that is Field Day even more fun than it already was. This wonderful person gave his students so many awesome memories that we will never forget for as long as we live and I am very upset to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out his family and friends. The world has lost an amazing person and he will be missed dearly. If only there were more people in the world like him, then the world would be a much better place.

Oh no! So sorry for your loss.

My fifth grade social studies teacher passed away two years ago (I think).

Thanks. I was very shocked to hear. She had a chronic illness for a long time.
