I don't know how much baring this has on The Muppets, as it's a different show on a different network. Supergirl is reportedly only going to get a second season because they're moving production to Vancouver to cut costs. In other words, the show's renewal was hinging on the budget. It wasn't getting a great ratings to money in ratio. The Muppets doesn't look that high of a budget. If it means a lot more bottle episodes that take place in the studio, that actually might work in its favor. If the show's cheap enough to produce, that may just twist ABC's arm.
