Another reason why I hate politcs: D'ump and Bristhoe clearly started this nontroversy over those Starbucks cups, but now everybody's like, "Typical dumocrats alwyz makin evrything PC n stuf." Donald Trump and Bristol Palin - two of the staunchest Reps there are - were the first to start boycotting these cups, thus starting this whole nontroversy, so how is it suddenly liberals' fault this thing blew up out of proportion?

It's both the parties' faults, they feed into each other so well. They just can't help it, lol.

In other news, I think I found a new Thanksgiving tradition. I finally decided to sit down and watch the reportedly iconic "Turkeys Away" episode of Cincinnati WKRP. At first, I was a little underwhelmed since this episode had been so hyped on shows like I Love the 70s, but it has grown on me the past couple of days as I've watched it on the Kindle while food shopping, etc. I especially love how, since they couldn't afford to show actual turkeys on a sitcom budget, it's all up to the actors to sell the moment: "I really don't know how to describe it. It was like the turkeys mounted a counter-attack! It was almost as if they were...organized!" Lol :insatiable:

Nah, it was some fat doofus that looks like Paul Blart Mall Cop trying to make something out of nothing for 15 minutes of fame.

That said... I hate coffee. It tastes like burnt. It's liquid burnt and the fact everyone obsesses over it is why we have all these dumb coffee places.

At least with Dunkin Donuts, they have donuts.

I forgot to bring this up, but when I was at the post office last week, they already have envelopes and packages for Valentine's Day.

At 1:30am, no hope in sight, I welcome even an inkling of holiday spirit. So no, I don't think it's too early. Why should I put off one of very few things that actually makes me feel good?

I know this is one of those "it's always been like this" type deals, but the Thanksgiving Day Parade might as well call itself the "Christmas Commercialism Parade that just so happens to air on Thanksgiving."

Also... do we really need Elf on the Shelf's reindeer pals? I find the whole EOTS thing completely idiotic and paranoia inducing, even adjusting for Christmas saccharinity. They even sell accessories and alternate clothes like it's a Barbie doll. At the risk of sounding like I'm killing holiday cheer, that's the dictionary definition of useless excess. That's coming, of course, from someone who adorns their tree with Star Wars ornaments that aren't Christmasy at all.

I see one of the mods removed the explicit mention of the year 2013 from the thread title, which I think was a wise move, considering since 2013, this has pretty much become our go-to permanent annual Christmas thread in general, so yeah, thanks mods!

I'm actually really excited for the Christmas season, and I wasn't remotely ready a day or two ago. I guess all I needed was Thanksgiving to be over, now i'm ready for December. It's funny though,I was actually more excited for Christmas in October then I have been for most of November.
