And now, back to our previous 50 Shades of Lemony Twilight Fanfic Mommy Porn discussion, as now, it's apparently official that this thing is a full-fledge media franchise.

I've seen some of your work on dA too. Pretty decent. Even if you never reach the critical mass of Disney or WB, if you're proud of it (and rightfully so), that's what matters most.
A huge part of the problem is the lack of equipment, money, and a group to collaborate with. I fear it's too late and I'd have to start all over. The DA thing was supposed to be a temporary stop, but it's basically been my only source of exposure. I was thinking of having a dual page on tumblr, but never set one up. Plus, the lack of Photoshop also robbed me of unique gifs.

And now, back to our previous 50 Shades of Lemony Twilight Fanfic Mommy Porn discussion, as now, it's apparently official that this thing is a full-fledge media franchise.
I wouldn't put Lemony Snicket in there. That was one was written with talent. But yeah, Fifty Shades was a franchise long before the word "movie" was thrown around. I still don't get why those who would normally be all over banning the crap out of something like that, at least going through a noisy crusade against it. I'm sure the very same members of the PTV that would whine their butts off about something like it have a eh "well used" copy.

The thing that really bugs me is that, if you want to watch real porn, watch real porn. It's made by professionals that know how bondage works. Fifty Shades was jumbled together from what someone thinks it is. It seems one of the worst Da porn fics, actually.

On the subject of stealing other people's books, passing it off as one's own, and making a movie based on it... UGH. Divergent 2 looks even more like a knockoff of the Hunger Games. Are modern day novels that lax with copyright protection scrutiny? Plagiarism is plagiarism. Slightly changing the setting and names does not original a novel make. How come everyone's complaining about Super Hero movies (most of them are well done, after all), but no one's complaining about awful Young Adult factory made reads are getting factory made films?

Gotta love when yesterday we pick up my wife's car from being fixed only to have my car break down this morning!

My mom isn't the most technologically savvy person there is, so often times, I have to help her with Facebook.

No big deal, right?

Well, it is when she has to make things a lot more complicated than they need to be.

So, anyway, she's a real big geneology nut, and she's on all these diffferent groups on FB that she likes to share what information she finds with them. That's cool and all. She finds information on the internet that she wants to share, okay, I keep telling her all she has to do is share the link to these pages she finds with others in the group, they'll click the links, go to the pages, and see the information for themselves, y'know? But, apparently, that doesn't satisfy her. She prints all this information off, then wants me to scan the pages she pages she printed, put them all together into single files for her (for example, she had two ship manifests I she printed, one was two pages long, the other was four, and I had to edit them together as two single images), then upload the images for her. I keep trying to explain to her that sharing the links of these pages she finds would be a lot simpler, easier, quicker, and logical, but she argues that, "Not everybody looks at attachments." Yeah, exactly. Links aren't attachments, images are. And not only that, but I also try to explain to her that when people look at photos on FB, not everybody has the idea to go to Options and click Download so they view the full-sized images as opposed to the default previews in the litebox. "Oh, you can just post the full sizes for them to see." Ugh. . . . :sigh:

And how ironic that she always complains about my dad having to do things the hard way.

Actually, on the subject of children's animation networks screwing merchandise out of TV shows, I have a HUGE freaking bone to pick.

How the frig come Fanboy and Chum Chum was more deserving of a toyline than El Tigre? I mean, El Tigre didn't really catch on, but neither did FB&CC. There was an El Tigre Happy Meal promotion. I managed to get one of those. But really. While El Tigre isn't exactly the greatest thing Nick had to offer, FB&CC is one of the worst. And those toys never moved until they were deep, deep discount.

I cannot believe my head.

So, Freeplay Music is a site that allows you to download production music for use in video and media projects . . . for free. Hence the name Freeplay Music.

Now, it's bad enough that they've lately been dishing out third party claims on videos that use their music (some of mine included), but now they're actually going so far as to sue channels including Disney and DreamWorks for copyright infringement over the use of their music in their content.

Suing for copyright infringement over music that's composed specifically for free use? Really?! I certainly hope I don't suddenly find myself slapped with a lawsuit for all the times I've used their music.

So the current viral video sensation is of an employee working at a ghetto McDonald's in Minnesota who goes on a rampage and practically tears up the restaurant because he got fired. The dude's behavior is disturbing enough, but in the video, we see the manager trying to keep calm and maintain his composure while repeatedly requesting the employee leave - which he doesn't, and just keeps smashing stuff and tearing everything up.

So, guess what happened after that? After the video went viral, the manager got fired. You know why? McDonald's corporate office claims the manager was "too passive," and didn't do anything to actually defuse the situation. The manager was even interviewed about the situation, and he clearly explains that the employee that went berserk was 17, and therefore, still legally a minor, and there was nothing more he could do, because had he gotten phyiscal with him, he'd be sitting in jail on child abuse charges. So now, because that manager couldn't have actually done anything other than order the employee to leave, he's now out of a job and on unemployment.

Frankly, if you're a manager at a fast food place that means life's pretty much given up on you, and therefore punishment enough. The fact that he lost his job and gets all the blame for someone freaking the beak out for some reason pretty much solidifies how much life hates him.

Nothing he could have done would have been a win situation. He could have been fired either way, probably sued. And if there were assault charges, I'm sure corporate would find a way to weasel out of it, dumping the hefty legal fees on a McDonalds manager and his low salary. I'm sure there was a good reason for firing the employee that went nuts, but it's the lowest of paying jobs with no benefits and completely thankless. Whoever has a Spongebob Squarepants level of optimism is either a complete saint or secretly freaking insane.
