Very sorry for your loss. Two things that have been on my mind:
Recently, one of my childhood friends passed away suddenly of a drug overdose. He was days away from his twentieth birthday. It's very sad news…everyone that knew him was hit hard. I've been wondering, "Why is life so short? Why does it have to be this way?" Of course, all of us Muppet fans know the answer, as Gordon so concisely said: "Just because."
On a completely different note, I am meeting with a very nice and very lovely girl tomorrow at a coffee shop in the afternoon. My musician friends know her because I took her to one of our rehearsals back in September, and it's been a while since I've really chatted with her. I'm just not sure if I should ask her to be my (first) girlfriend or not. I believe in the phrase "nothing ventured, nothing gained," but I'm a bit nervous about screwing things up for both of us.
I'm no dating expert, but if there's one thing I've learned, it's that if you're unsure about something, you might want to spend sometime really thinking about it. Ultimately, you'll be able to figure out what it is that you really want. If you decide to ask her out, then the best of luck to you!
