It is my understanding that all of the Disney Limited Gold Collection VHS releases had this at the start of each video:

While that is good, it seems redundant to have it as the intro to all of the videos. It seems it lasts almost as long as one of the shorts, perhaps as long as the combined length of two previews and an opening theme sequence (though I know most VHS releases at the time didn't have previews before the main program). Those with every video (or most of them) might get bored watching the same one with every video (but at least they could fast forward through them). Aside from that, the main thing I wonder is, why did they all have to have a featurette on Mickey Mouse? The only video from this collection I've watched was the Daisy one, and I thought it was weird that it started with a mini-documentary on Mickey instead of Daisy. If these videos were going to have such intros, why couldn't they have all been on the featured character or subject? Though I know that some characters got multiple videos in the same collection (Mickey's the only one I know of off-hand, can't remember if any other characters spotlighted two or more), so I don't know if they would have repeated the same documentary.

It sort of makes me wish that the Looney Tunes Golden Jubilee or Golden Age of Looney Tunes VHS collections began with short documentaries on the video's spotlighted character or theme (though I've never watched any of The Golden Age of Looney Tunes).

Not sure if this would be better for the Full House thread, but is it just me or do many changes on that show seem to happen within short periods of time, without even going through a season?

Some of the examples:
  • Joey moves in but has to sleep in the alcove. Before the season ends the garage becomes his room.
  • Joey's stint as "Ranger Joe" didn't seem to last long, maybe half of two seasons (if not have of one season). Also, Jesse's gig as Ranger Joe's sidekick Ranger Jess seems to have only lasted two episodes (well, one episode, and then in the next episode or two it's mentioned he was laid off).
  • D.J.'s relationships during the final season, breaking up with Nelson in his introduction episode but occasionally hanging out with him, and dating Jesse's new guitar player Viper and breaking up a few episodes later.
  • Danny proposing to Vicki at the end of season sixth, then breaking off the engagement halfway through the seventh season.
  • Teddy moves, Denise becomes Michelle's new best friend, and then maybe a season later Teddy comes back.

I can probably list more examples.

Even as a kid I was hugely disappointed by that, lol. They built up their relationship so much and Danny was finally not going to be alone anymore. But no! Nevermind, Vicki's got a new job! Back to the status quo! :stick_out_tongue:

I've been watching the show regularly these last few months for the first time in years, and I was surprised to see that during her time on the show Vicki was not on the show as often as I had remembered (with her being away on other jobs). My memories from watching the show in its original run were that she was a much more regular character during seasons 6 and up to her departure in season 7 (although I started watching in season 5 my childhood memories don't remember her on the show during the time Becky was pregnant).

You ever notice that SNL is quite a self-congratulating entity? Well, okay, that may not be the best way to put it, but you notice that whenever a cast member "leaves", they never even really go away, because after that, they come back to host ALL THE TIME. In fact, in most cases, they only "leave", because they do ONE movie (and usually a pretty bad one at that), then all of the sudden they feel like a really big and important movie star who has no more business being on a network television comedy show, so they feel it's time for them to move on and focus on their supposed budding movie career... but again, they come back to host the show all the time, so it's not like they even really leave, because you see them again on the show in a small fraction less of time than you had previously been seeing them on.

Oh yeah, and once they leave, not only do they come back to host all the time, but they also end up getting their own "best of" specials too.

What's the deal on old Simpsons cartoons when one of the character's mouths pointed the other way from their face? You know, like when Bart says something and his eyes and nose are pointing right and his mouth is pointing left?

The end of this short shows what I'm talking about

And it's not even confined to the old wonky animated shorts... this is a still from season 5...

I kinda miss it AND am glad they don't do it anymore.

Those are called Twisters and it was just a strange stylistic choice which they dropped because it was hard to animate (I THINK that's what they said) and distracting. They talked about them on one of the dvd commentaries. (I'm a nerd and have watched all commentaries on all episodes up to season 11).

You ever notice that some establishments out there advertise everything BUT what they're all about? This seems to have become more and more commonplace in recent times... like, take Dunkin Donuts for example, they never advertise doughnuts. Never. They've got the best doughnuts there are, yet, they never advertise them. They REALLY like to hawk their coffee at us, but you can get coffee anywhere, it's not hard to get coffee. And even more recently, they like to shove their breakfast sandwiches down our throats, and lemme tell ya, those breakfast sandwiches are disgusting... I mean, who wants to eat a yellow sponge, melted cheese, and strips of hard, red plastic, inbetween a biscuit? Nobody cares about any of that stuff, and you know why? Because they're Dunkin DONUTS, NOT Dunkin Coffee And Biscuits Filled With Sponges Cheese And Plastic.

And Zaxby's too... now, there isn't a Zaxby's in my town, so I don't really know what they're all about, but I'm to believe that they're a chicken place, right? Well, okay, I guess that's no big deal, I like chicken, and I guess it doesn't hurt to have as many chicken places as there are burger joints (McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Krystal, whatever), but if I didn't know any better from their advertisements, I'd assume Zaxby's is a milkshake shop that likes to have random and obscure celebrities endorse them, like when Ryan Stiles hawked theirbirthday cake milkshake, or how Wayne Brady is currently hawking banana puddin' milkshakes, now all that's left is for Colin Mochrie to hawk a beaver tail milkshake and they'll be all set. And what's the deal with "zalads"? Did they get in trouble for copyright infringement or something? Is the word "salad" a registered trademark that they can't use, so they settled with "zalad"? But again, if this is a chicken place, then why should we care about the salads and milkshakes they have? I like salads and milkshakes, but what about the chicken? What kind of chicken do they have? How is it any different from KFC, or Chick-Fil-A, or Wishbone's?

Well I agree about the egg; it's pretty gross and I usually take it out. But I actually like the cheese and bacon with the biscuit, lol.
