I REALLY doubt that they shelfed Me and My Shadow for Mr. Peabody and Sherman(which should REALLY be more of a weekly educational show on PBS about historical stories, but that's just me). I only say that because it looks to me like they just pushed things back a little bit. They were GONNA have Mr. Peabody and Sherman the first week of Nov. but they pushed it back for SOME reason, and I guess that Fox and Dreamworks didn't wanna put 2 movies out in 2 weeks time(and who knows what production is gonna take on Me and My Shadow, heck even the Mr. Peabody movie is probably doing the same thing and that's why it got pushed back) but I think that Me and My Shadow WILL be seen. I actually would enjoy a movie with Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Always enjoyed them on Rocky and Bullwinkle and as long as they don't make it a live-action thing like Underdog and Rocky and Bullwinkle, then I think they have something. Besides, Robert Downey Jr. is in it(assumingly playing Peabody) so that HAS to be interesting to see.

1. I Hope So

2. I Didn't Say I HATED THE MOVIE, I Just Said That We've Seen Cartoon Reboots Countless Times, I'm Just Afraid It's Gonna Get The Alvin And The Chipmunks Treatment

3. That Would Have To Be The Most Interesting Thing Out Of All The Movie

*&^%$!! I really wanted that movie to be at the end of this year. There must be some production delay or something. I'm pretty disappointed by that move, especially how crummy Dreamworks' other films are this year. Turbo?! Really? Now it's going to be up against the Muppets (unless that one changes as well). That's not a good sign at all.

What everyone seems to forget about Peabody and Sherman is that its full title is Mr. Peabody's Improbable History. Emphasis on Improbable. Even the movie's description seems to forget that fact. The very first cartoon specifically shows Peabody building a time machine first, and then deciding to build a What if Time Machine so Sherman doesn't get into any trouble.

Aw, I was looking forward to seeing Mr. Peabody and Sherman as a holiday season movie. :frown: And I was looking forward to Me and My Shadow just because it sounds like such a creative and interesting film. I really think Rise of the Guardians flopping as something to do with all these lay-offs. I haven't seen the movie (I want to but just wasn't interested in seeing it in the theater and it looks like DreamWorks trying to be ambitious but restrained, not liking that) but it seems like they just spent way too much money on it. Too bad really.

I must be missing something here... what is this Me and My Shadow? This is honestly the first I've ever heard about this, whatever it is (you guys say it's a movie, the article says it's a series).

Speaking of the article... is it bad that I'm disappointed in DreamWorks that they too have outsourced some of their work to India?

Rise of the Guardians came out late in the season, and it did so so. I blame the fact that the Thanksgiving weekend isn't really as good a release time as they think it is. There's such a huge lull, and The Muppets proves that (there is no way it shouldn't have made 100 mil in the US, but that second week was terrible for movies all over). Plus, there was NO merchandise for ROTG. Just a Happy Meal with 6 toys. Most have 8. Disney did it right releasing Ralph several weeks prior. But ROTG has a huge internet following and the DVD's will sell huge. Doesn't help that the movie takes place over Easter rather than the Christmas setting they were pushing. It was a great film, and one of Dreamworks's finest. I guess it was too dark and turned off a lot of little kids. They pretty much imply that, to be Santa, the Easter Bunny, or Jack Frost, you kinda have to die first. Not really an under 8 year old friendly concept. Too bad they're going to shove Turbo the not at all Cars/Bugs Life ripoff down everyone's throats and it will only be a hit with preschoolers.

But I agree. Waiting the extra 3 months for Peabody and Sherman, especially since it's going to be in steady competition with The Muppets...Again (unless Disney changes that). Not good for either film. I'd hate to want P&S to flop if it means The Muppets is a moderate success that gets a third film. And I'd REALLY hate if The Muppets Again flops against P&S, ruling out the possibility of a third film.

That said, Me and My Shadow sounded very ambitious. It was some 2-D/3-D blend. I'd rather work go on that than Smeckday. It could have been their Magnum Opus.

To be honest, I'm looking forward more to the Peabody movie. Being a fan of J. Ward's productions, I'm interested in seeing how this new movie will do in emulating the art style and writing of the original 50-year-old cartoons while trying to make it fresh and new. And to see how they can somehow stretch a 5 minute cartoon series to an hour-and-a-half long movie.

I'm not saying that Me And My Shadow won't be as good, it's just that I don't know much about it yet. I haven't seen any info or concept/publicity art to be completely sure of it. I'm sure it will be cute and artsy and all that, and I am looking forward to it, but just not as much as Peabody.
