Does Disney really feel it so necessary to give Planes a theatrical release? Cars 2 will still be fresh in people's minds in August... I don't see it doing too well.

I just saw Les Mis. I thought it was alright. "Master of the House" is my favorite song from the show and whatever version I compare to the one on my iPod (I got it from YT, so I have no idea who the cast is or from what version it's from). And they didn't do it very well in the film. It had a frantic, Looney Tunes' type of staging to it which fits, but the music and singing was so bland; the song's supposed to be bombastic and over the top and the music and performers were so reserved.

It really doesn't matter. The movie was going to be released DTV anyway. I guess they needed an August movie and instead of spending money making a sleeper film, they figured they had a movie already done. So whatever money it makes will be icing when the home video release is the cake. Plus, it does make the film just that much more accessible to give it a theatrical release than rather have you invest in a DVD if the film isn't that good. Arguably, the money used for tickets would be exactly the same as (if not more than) buying it on home video.

I DO wish, however, they gave the same treatment for the Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension film. THAT needed to be released theatrically.

Yes, I Will Agree With That, BUT Disney Is More Paced In Releasing That Live Action/Animated Phineas and Ferb Film Which Was Originally Slated For 2013, But Got Delayed Till 2014, And We Don't Even Know What Plot Is In That Film, Hopefully, They'll Give Us Some Plot In ALMOST This Year's D23 Expo

Hmmm... maybe that's why they're releasing Planes instead. They already had a movie that was ready.

Reminds me of Jay-Jay the Jet Plane for some reason...

UGH! Jay Jay the Jet Plane. That's it's own special brand of horrible.

Django Unchained. No words. Was awesome.
Agreed. If anything, Leonardo DiCaprio deserves an Oscar nomination for his role as Calvin Candie. Sam Jackson would be a close second - both men really stole the film for me.
