Finally got to see Monsters Inc 3-D.

I'm surprised that it didn't have a new short before it like Finding Nemo did. They just reused For the Birds. Not that I'm complaining, as it's one of my favorites. That big goofy bird, clearly inspired by a certain Yellow friend of ours.

I have a question. Did anyone actually see Dino Time or that other thing actually play in theaters? I didn't see it come up here... not even in the multiplexes.

Was the first movie REALLY that popular that it needs a sequel? I personally did not like it. There was something really off-putting about the overall look of the movie, and the story was....you know, I'm more interested in seeing what DrTooth says about this. Who cares about my opinion? :coy:

Would a simple eye roll and "Of course there is?" going to be disappointing? I really don't feel the need to go full on Donald Duck rage, even though I'm in a very ticked off mood due to personal stuff.

For some reason, people actually liked this movie. Sony doesn't have a track record of greatness, and they're going to mine every idea they have that made money. They already planned a Hotel Transylvania 2. And there's no surprises there since it somehow took a notorious Dump Month* and managed to be a shocking hit. It blew the other horror based family movie that came out near October out of the water. We know there's going to be a Smurfs 2, and as much as most of us will go "WHAT?!?! REALLY?!?!" it made a crapload of money, very unexpectedly, especially in merchandising.

That said, I'd probably have enjoyed the movie if I wasn't so dang close to the book. It was one of my favorites due to the sweet nature of it all being a Grandfather's tall tale and they turned it into something very obvious and soul lacking. I just may force myself through the whole thing one of these days and probably learn to not hate it, but I hate when they take sweet little kid's books and change them into something pedestrian. Yet I like Shrek. And at least it's not as terrible as Polar Express was.

*(every day I dread the fact that I took to looking at that site. I've got like 3 or 4 tabs full of stuff I didn't get around to reading yesterday. At least it improved my vocabulary).

Anyone going to bother with Escape from Planet Earth? It looks like it could have been a good movie, but once again the worst run entertainment company in the world screwed around with it (it was in development since 2007) and there was a huge lawsuit as a result. Not a good sign. Especially considering they completely ruined Hoodwinked 2 by firing the original writers and directors for a sloppy rewrite.

A Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2? Seriously?

Though an alright movie that probably could come up with an alright sequel plot, I think we've already stretched the things in Chewandswallow as far as they can go. A sequel will just be overdoing things a bit.

They go to a food based island where all the animals are food based.

If I wanted to see that, I'd watch Toriko.

In fact, I'll watch Toriko over most things anyway. I freaking LOVE Toriko.

I mean, those food animal pics, though very creative, are just kind of weird. I feel like I'm watching some kind of preschool show where food and animals meet. I have no desire to watch this one at all...
