Case
of the Missing Socks and Cave of the Lost Fraggle (1988, UK)
Published
in 1988 by Carnival. Weekly Reader Reissues. Hardcover. 32 pages each.
A
publishing company called Carnival located in London, England released
smaller yet taller formatted Fraggle Rock books originally part of the
Weekly Reader line.
These
books are interesting due to their odd size. They measure 7 inches tall
and 4 1/2 inches wide, which is about half the size of the original versions.
The illustrations had to be reduced and cropped in on some pages to fit
this different size. The cover illustrations are also different as they
are each taken from one of the pages from the story instead of using the
original covers. This was done mostly likely to accommodate the changed
size.
There
may be more in this series, but these are the most common:
- The Case
of the Missing Socks
- The Cave
of the Lost Fraggle

learning books released during the year that the animated series aired.
Both books measure approximately 5 1/2 by 7 inches and are diecut to the
shapes of the cover illustrations. Both books in this series were written
and drawn by the same two people.
