Fraggle Rock (1983)

Published 1983 by Holt, Rinehart and Winston. Written by Jocelyn Stevenson. Designed by Bruce McNally and Les Skinner. Illustrated by Manhar Chaunan, Pam Storey, Jo Lawrence, and Sue Venning. Softcover, 64 pages.

This was the first Fraggle Rock book every published and even to this day, it is one of the best. It features character biographies, actual postcards from Uncle Matt, and lots of actual photos from the series. Games, puzzles, mazes, and puppets are also included. It includes two stories, "An Adventure a Day Keeps Tomorrow Away," and "The Big, Horrible, Smelly, Ugly, Terrible Gooey Mess."

Red and the Pumpkins (1983)

Published 1983 by Holt, Rinehart and Winston. Written by Jocelyn Stevenson. Illustrated by Kelly Oechsli. Hardback, 44 pages.

Hoping to make life easier for all the Fraggles, Red steals and plants a pumpkin seed from the Gorgs' Garden - but a horrible nightmare ensues.

They Call Me Boober Fraggle (1983)

Gloomy Boober is the worrywart of Fraggle Rock--always fretting about pestilence, doom, and dirty laundry. Afraid that his negative attitude will chase everyone away, he embarks on a self-improvement campaign... with disastrous results. It's up to his four best friends to convince him that love him just the way he is.

The Radish Day Jubilee (1983)

Published 1983 by Holt, Rinehart and Winston. Written by Sheilah B. Bruce. Illustrated by Lawrence DiFiori. Hardback, 44 pages.

In honor of vegetable-loving Fraggle Rock's newest holiday, sensitive artistic Mokey Fraggle has written a poem. But the poem ends up in the hands of the monstrous Gorgs, and Mokey is captured and made Poet Laureate of Gorgdom. With some help from Marjorie--the talking Trash who delivers wise but sometimes confusing advice--the whole of Fraggle Rock comes to Mokey's rescue.
