The only way you would be able to get a video recording of Avenue Q is if someone who went to the show video taped it in the theater, which is strictly prohibited, not to mention illegal.

I saw part of one of the bootleg copies. The first 10 minutes or so, the camera isn't even pointed at the stage! Plus, the recording was so bad, it wouldn't even play back on any of my equipment. My friend (who traded for the copy) got it to play back on something (his computer, I think). Definitely not worth it... especially since it's illegal, too!

Yeah, but sometimes it's the only way you can see some things. I wish they would record performances and then sell them after the show closed or something for preservation's sake.

I totally agree on that. If they did that noone would feel a need to buy illegal bootleg copies of shows in the firstplace. But in the mean time when there is no video available of shows, theres lots of people who trade them which is technically illegal but noone is losing out, actually they are gaining from it.

Ive seen an avenue q video online somewhere and although its bad quality im off to see the show because it looked so good any chance I get and it looks like that will be in London I hope when I go there later this year.

Is CATS the only musical they have given this treatment to? If not, what others?
