Discussion in 'Sesame Street' started by Phillip, Jan 17, 2007.
Will the theme song still be "Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?" for season 38?
Well, yes, it will still be the same song, but a different version. And this is the first time since 1992 that ALL of the theme music will be new.
Again, I still hope that the opening theme isn't going to be a drastic change as that "Calypso" theme was. But I'm glad they are going to do a new closing sequence.
And I think Season 39 might actually just be switching studios, like in 1992. That's why we got that crazy new opening. They will probably add some more new elements, and this is going to be really weird. I just got used to the new format (I like the Season 37 episodes best), and I'm sure they're still occasionally going to show the classics (pre-1992 material) like they did the past few seasons.
It would be soooo awsome if they brought AtC back (if they move to a new studio).hehe But, anyways, they can change all they want (change is sometimes good), as long as they give Big Bird enough screen time. It would crush my heart if he didn't appear alot on the show anymore. Hmmm..I wonder what lies ahead for season 40?p.s. What does Joan Ganz Cooney think of all these changes?
Hooray! New closing theme!
We'll have to wait and see on all that new music, but I don't think they'll stray far from the stuff we know.
The CGI stuff worries me though. But we don't know much yet, and I don't think SW is dumb enough to make an "around the corner" type big change again, especially since last, and apparently this season seems to be taking steps toward being the SS of old.
But let's keep the panic to a minimum until we get some more information about this.
So what the **** are they going to do with the old set? ! Just tear it down and put in storage and let it rot? ! WHAT? ! ? WHAT! ? !
Just a thought.
I think we should at least wait till next year before we concern ourselves with this.
For all we know the reported CGI set pieces may just be a few extra stories on the buildings, a few intersections, and things like that that are so common in movies nowadays. For all we know, the set may look more realistic after the CGI elements are in place.
Until we get word from Sesame Workshop, I´m not going to worry about it.
Didn't you read? It said that this is last season the show will be taped ON THAT SET.
The previous page!
When they said it's going to be the last season taped on that set, that might mean that after this season they will probably switch studio facilities. A similar thing happened in 1992. That's why they added that crazy calypso theme.
Naw, if that were the case, then they'd say they're moving to a new studio, and where and what this new studio would be... wouldn't they?
Ok, you hated the calypso theme. Must you keep repeating that!
I kind of like this. I would love to see something new happen in the Street sceens or new CGI stuff. I know everyone don't like changes but if it does happen i'm going to accept it no matter what. I just hope to maybe see new characters or old ones maybe come back.
Well CGI on Television is tricky, if it's not not done well it can look cheap and fake. But I don't mind the idea so much, if it happens. The only thing that ever really bothers me is the lack of classic material.
Considering I HATE the real song, and it's clearly identical (as a parody) to "How I miss my X" and "I don't know Y" it was alright. They need to rehire Chris Cerf to do MUPPET parodies of the song with that parody song feel, where they take the same melody and change it so it doesn't sound the same so they don't have to pay anyone. I like that much better...
While i was initially going to hurl and scream obscenities, I read that and I figured it doesn't sound too bad if just the sky were CGI and stuff... as long as they don't replace anymore muppetes with CGI (what they did with the Twiddlebugs and Sesame Christmas Carol). I mean, it's like replacing a fine dinner of Lobster Tail and Filet Mignon with a McDonald's Hamberger and a can of Tuna.... It's cheaper, but not as satisfying. I think even considering replacing the Muppets with CGI is even worse than all the monster Club Houses, Heroguys and Elmo's Worlds combined....
Well, it´s still early, and we´re getting this information second- or third- hand. Wait and see.
August 13th... how come I feel that the date is never going to come?
I don't know explain why you feel the way you do?
