Check this out!

Here's a nice article on the Sesame Street Muppets around the world.
http://www.nynewsday.com/am-p2tv0125,0,3839275.story?page=1&coll=nyc-swapspan

And they have a 3 1/2 minute video you can watch that they call "Sesame Street goes International" on the right of the page. It doesn't say if this video clip is from the new Documentary "The World According to Sesame Street". It might be. The voice-over on the clip sounds like Maya Angelou. (My guess.)

Also there is a very nice photo slide show of international Muppets definitely worth seeing.

Nice stuff to check out!

I tried to capture the video and had no luck, it's hiding behind java code.

I watched the little video. It was pretty cool. I wished we could get all those type of Sesame Street DVD or video's here to watch them all. I would love a library of other countries Sesame Street shows. Can't wait to see this new Documentary.

Great article and clip!

I am excited to see the new documentary. I bet it's gonna be a blast!

Just read the article and got a question:
Sesame Street had a Muppet with Asthma??

What? Ms. Kofi Annan didn't appear in that skit which aired a few years back, did she?

I dunno, but I'm curious about the asthmatic Muppet on SS--never heard of that before. Anybody else?

Many countries have refused to allow Big Bird onto their versions, claiming he's too American. But the Chinese, oddly, embraced the doofus.
Is Big Bird a doofus?

I'd do almost anything legal, moral and physically possible to get a look at some non-Spanish international clips. (I've seen Plaza Sésamo about a dozen times, and Shalom Sesame when PBS broadcast that for a week; but the foreign version I miss most is in Swedish.)
