Hello !
I'm a French fan of the muppets, and
we have muppet DVDs here (two 5-DVD box sets), but
they are dubbed in French and the
original voices are not included...
So I'd like to know if it's possible to
buy DVD directly from usa or uk ?
Do online shops ship internationaly ?
Can I use coupons for discount price ?
How many Muppet episodes were produced
in total ? And how many of them are available ?
Thanks !

There are 120 episodes in total, but not all of them have been released on DVD.

From Uk you can get a boxset with 26 episodes, theres also a boxset on vhs with 36 episodes.

There are also a series called The Very Best Of The Muppet Show. It's containing a edit of diferent scenes cut together and 2 complete episodes and a special on each disc. There 2 out show far but number 3 are on it's way.

In the US Timelife have been releasing DVD's, but forget about them, unless you can get someone in the US to order them for you.

However Columbia/Tristar are releasing the same DVD's, a bit later. Those you can get. They are called The Best Of The Muppet Show. They got 3 episodes per disc.

Can't remember how many there are.

Wow, these muppet DVDs seem very expensive...
not to mention the shipping costs I'll have to pay !
By the way, it seems that the DVDs do not include
subtitles ... is it true?

I'am not sure about the ones from US, but the releases from UK don't have subtitles on.

BTW try here http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/?browse.asp?z=1&qs=1&class=mvi&search=best+of+the+muppet

You can see the price in euro, it's not the 100% correct price it depends on the exchange rate but it's pretty close, and the price you see is including shiping. I don't know what a normal DVD costs in France, but compared to danish prices, on R2 DVD's, then this site is very cheap.
I was a bit suprised the first time I bought a DVD here. I had prepared myself that I had to add the danish tax on DVD's to the price. But I got the DVD's from sweden so the price you see are the price it costs including what ever tax france has on imported DVD's.

you can get the TimeLife DVDs from PlayUSA.com (they deliver to the UK, so I'm gonna assume France too...), with zero p&p - just search for "muppet"

You are a bit wrong about that. It's the ones from Columbia/Tristar.
But they are the same as those that Timelife has released.

Ok, I've checked the price at Playusa.com, they are
at $32.49 (canadian)...It seems a lot of money (and
even more when one knows that each DVD is only 80 mn long)...
I'll convert it it euros to see if it's in my price range !
Here, in France, the 5-DVD sets are priced about 55 Euros...

They are sort of the same. But Columbia has skipped one volume of the serie so far. And there are more DVD's from Timelife than Columbia/Tristar. And the major difference is that you can only order the Timelife DVD's if you live in the US.

So to use the Timelife name for the DVD's from Columbia/Tristar is a bit wrong.
