Again, you miss the point. True conservatism vs. what conservatism has become.
I actually outline one of the the hypocritical political beliefs a few pages back when talking about abortion. When talking about core values, supporting Roe v. Wade should actually a conservative view. It calls for less legislation and says the government should not have the power to make laws that interfere with basic rights. This is a conservative view. However, conservatives also tend to attract religious people who don't usually see Roe v. Wade as a rights issue, they see it as a religious issue.
You are confusing political conservatism with religious conservatism. Most people are actually politically conservative, in that they don't think the government should be governing our daily lives. It's basically what the libertarian party stands for since the connotative meaning of conservatism has changed.
So I suppose I am more libertarian than anything else. I don't think there should be any law saying who can use what bathroom. It's simply not a legal issue and should be decided by society. Same with marriage. Deciding who you get to marry is not the job of government.
