While I try hard not to respond to old threads, the fact that it's been almost 10 years since it was posted means that the dreams of those STS fans have gone unfulfilled. And you know what? I think the problem is obvious. Hit probably only owns the rights to the Thomas segments, meaning that they'd have to make some sort of arrangements with the show owners, and/or visa versa.

Either way, seems like two lines of rights that probably don't want to get along with each other.

Or it could also be that Hit wants only their Thomas media to be released. Which is also likely.

Holy **** why didn't I see this thread?

Bumpity bump bump.

Okay, I know why this show won't get a DVD release.

1) PBS has had a history of never releasing shows on full DVD sets.

2) I think also some of it comes down to clearance issues.

We don't know if PBS owns the rights to the little cartoons shown during the live action skits.

I think some songs, if I'm not mistaken, aren't public domain and will need to be cleared.

So sorry, but the show is never going to get full season DVD sets and that's that.
