It was a good street scene; I'd almost call it very good, especially because I LOL at Grover. I was also glad to see it was Elmo, not Big Bird, who asked what adopt meant; Big Bird sort of echoed a "yeah" but it was more like, "Yeah, let's tell him," like any kid might do who can't quite explain it as well himself. So, I think we can be...thankful for Elmo here. Wow, wonders never cease.

Now that we're over the first hurdle, which we worried about earlier, let's see if they make reference to Miles being adopted; it's not *as* necessary now since Big Bird could at least easily know what it means; at least they haven't violated continuity. However, one thing is, and I wonder if they'll touch on it; I don't know how they did it with Miles.

A baby adopted at 10 months is likely to need a lot more comfort and assurance of the new mother's love than is a normal baby who comes home from the hospital; the period of getting attached will be longer, even if that child was in a very well-run orphanage with consistent caregivers. I'm not saying that they need to get all technical, I would just like to hear some reference, now or in the near future, that "Marco's in a very strange place and he needs his Mommy a lot more so he can feel safe."

Which is why Gina adopting like this is tricky. It's going to be doable, but the single adoptive parents most are familiar with - Daddy Warbucks with Annie; Phillip Drummond (The TV show Diff'rent Strokes); Uncle Bill ("Family Affair") - adopted older children. (Yes, Uncle Bill was related, but counts in this category because of his lifestyle and the fact he really didn't know the kids) She'll need to spend a lot more time with a baby. I suspect that at least most who are concerned with this would not be as worried if she was adopting a 5-6-year-old child. (I would like to see this for another reason - to show people that older children need adopted, too; they are the ones who flounder in the system much more often.)

there is one adoptive dad who did find a baby on his doorstep and took care of him in the comics. Who? Well, in the Famous Studios cartoons, the baby was Olive's cousin. Yep, Swee'Pea was Popeye's adopted son. But, I'm sure Sesame Workshop will have a more complicated storyline than Gina gobbling down spinach and coming to the rescue if Marco's in danger

Oh yeah, there was a new letter of the day today, and Praire Dawn had a new look on it. it was the letter of the day game show thing. And a new Traction Jackson where Kevin Clash was Talking for what I believe to be his grand father who was playing some kind of game.

There are a total of twenty-six episodes in this season. Season 37 started on August 14, 2006 and kept airing new episodes until reaching 4129 sometime towards the end of September 2006. However, they started airing repeats of the first twenty-one episodes of the season starting over on October 2, 2006. That got us to the last five episodes from 4130-4134 airing this week.

Like others, I was a bit worried how this would all turn out, but so far it's turning out great. SW really knows how to pull it together when it really counts. DTF covered the basics, so I'll just post my thoughts.

After the last few episodes leaving a bad taste in my mouth, this was really great. I loved it. New songs, a variety of people on the street for once, (we even got a quick look at Bert!) and thankfully new clips. You can't have an important episode and just reshow old ones.

We start with the grown-ups talking among themselves about the event (we really need more scenes like this), and naturally the kids are left in the dark. I gotta love Big Bird's idea of how to find out what's going on, "How about we just ask Gina?" lol. Plus, it was nice seeing him be head of the group. Elmo didn't take charge for once.

Marco is soooo cute. It was hard not to love him when you saw how much Gina loved him. Especially when they did that flashback to where she first met him and that sweet song playing in the background. The look at the end where it sunk in she was going to be a mother was priceless.

Loved how supportive everyone was. Setting up the crib for her, Maria going with her to help translate, and all of them offering to help however they can when Marco comes. It was a nice positive message.

It was so sweet how Bob made a sweater for the baby. (He sounded kinda out of breath though. )

Grover putting Gina in that swimming outfit was the funniest thing in the episode. How else can she get to Guatemala? lol. I can't believe Grover even has a travel agent! He's getting ripped off if swimming and swinging everywhere is the best that guy can do!

Susan was once again MIA. No surprise there. Maybe we'll see her when Marco gets here tomorrow.

I really like Cookie finding three things that start with the letter of the day. Funny and a lot more entertaining than him eating a cookie with a letter on it. And poor Prairie Dawn just can't win. First he interrupts her bath when they did B, and now eats her groceries with the letter G. I'm surprised the bag was left intact!

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is that they finally changed sponsors. We still have Beaches and McDonald's, but no more watching the baby with a pancake on her head again! Instead we got some organic food (what a shock) and some other company. Even Gordon's voice over about the sponsors was different.

Okay, I missed the first part yesterday so I got a bit behind. I didn't know Maria went with Gina to Guatemala. Anyway, I saw today's ep and I thought it was really good. Kudos to Gordon for mentioning the adoption of Miles. I was also impressed when Elmo said he remembered that. He was indeed there when Susan and Gordon adopted Miles. I'm glad they're getting better with continuity. Also, I'm glad they got Bert in a street scene, except what the heck was he doing with Ernie's Rubber Duckie? Also, the Super Grover scene was pretty good, except that they seemed to dumb him down quite a bit. After living on "Sesame Street" for so long, you'd think he'd know what a baby was. I also liked when Oscar thought that he was a grouch. He thought the same thing about Gabi when she was a baby. Well, I'll probably post more later. Right now, I should head to work.

Yes today was an awsome episode. It through me off when Elmo kept asking of who the baby was and what adoptions was until Gordon mention about him and Susan adopting Miles. Then the song with everyone getting the stuff ready for the baby to arrive was cool too. I did love the new song Ernie sang. I just love this episode to bits. Can't wait for tomorrow.
